Why do FCs get 75% of the wards?

Zodiark 1-10 members fc's : 920 (55%)

My original number might have been a bit too high, but it's still over half of them, being purely used either for submarines,abandoned,probably empty or used as personals with a few alts inside. My point more than stands, despite the percentage being a bit lower.

I believe you have misinterpreted the data quite incorrectly.
Every server has 24 wards, 60 houses per ward, and 4 total regions (currently).

24 x 60 x 4 = 5,760 Total houses per server (as of pre-6.1)

According to this data chart on XIVHOUSING:

ZODIARK
Zodiark is comprised of 1,644 FC houses total (All member count sizes).
This accounts for 29% of the houses as owned by FCs on the entire server.

The remaining 4,116 houses are all personal owned houses.
This accounts for 71% of all houses owned as personals on the entire server.


Spriggan
Spriggan is comprised of 2,003 FC houses total (All member count sizes).
This accounts for 35% of the houses as owned by FCs on the entire server.

The remaining 3,757 houses are all personal owned houses.
This accounts for 65% of the houses owned as personals on the entire server.



Now let us look at the absolute extreme case which is Balmung. It is most notorious for being the most overpopulated server with the highest demand for housing.

Balmung is comprised of 2,245 FC houses total (All member count sizes).
This accounts for 39% of the houses as owned by FCs on the entire server.

The remaining 3,515 houses are all personal owned houses.
This accounts for 61% of all houses owned as personals on the entire server.

In all of the above cases, FC houses that fall within the "shell" category take only a fraction of their respective distribution which further disproves that FC housing and private sales are running rampant on a level that significantly detracts from the personal housing supply. This would support Yodada's statement on your numbers being grossly inflated.

The data falls in line consistently across most servers where roughly 30% of all houses are FC houses including potential "shell" FCs, with 70% being allocated to personal houses. As such it is safe to conclude that as of right now personal houses greatly outnumbers fc houses. Since this data has been pulled directly from lodestone, it has relatively high accuracy for a large scale representation. It is nearly impossible to know the use rate of a house since nobody can monitor a house 24/7.

According to the Bancho survery, Balmung has about 3500 total FCs. 2,245 FCs already have houses. That leaves about 1,255 FCs without a house. Not all will qualify (size, rank, etc) but many will. 18 wards of 60 plots are FC only. That's 1,080 FC only plots for some amount less than 1255 FCs on that server. Most servers are likely going to have ratios have less than 2 to 1 when it comes to FCs without a house to FC-only plots in the new wards.

I think that is going to greatly change FC plans when the servers come up. Instead of waiting until the last minute, they would be wise to get in as many tickets from FC members as they can in order to make other FCs look elsewhere.

Whereas when it comes to private plots, wow - I wouldn't be surprised if smalls have 100 tickets and larges have upwards of 500. There's simply so few to go around. This is clearly SE's way of saying "houses were really meant for FCs or players that have been with the game since housing first came out."

Have my like, but Thinking of just the next 9 days... personally, I think there is one other strat that will slightly foul your quite valid thought.

It's going to be super smart for all homeless to put their single entry into a personal plot in round one, then in round two (no personals left) give the entry to the FC, who will then want to get as many onto the plot as possible early to scare people off.

There will still be FC houses left in round two, but all the personals will be gone.

What you say is valid, to a smaller extent in round one, round two can throw more people into this strategy.

I saw a small plot in crystal with over 30 entries, and im thinking: Why would you go past 4? lol
