“plenty.” Wow i didn’t know 4 fights every what, 6-8 months? Was plenty…When did every one agree with you? I'm perfectly fine with the elementary mechanics, and I prefer my challenges IRL, not in the kids' video game that I play at the end of a long day filled with challenges. There is already plenty of content in the game that allows you to "grow beyond spoonfeeding marker mechanics 24/7." Go do that and leave the rest of us to our chill gameplay.
Would you rather we get only 1 raid update every 12 months instead? Or how about no raid updates for 3 years like swtor and when it finally did get one it was a single boss and the rest of the raid was added in piece by piece over the course of a year?
FFXIV has more consistent content updates than any other MMO out there.
Not to call you out, but I read your thread and even gave advice. A lot of your issues were from ping, and laziness of not learning a proper keybind system. There is a difference between being casual, being lazy, and being bad. The first thing I usually do for any game is figure out the controls, and rebind them to what I prefer which I assume is fairly common for most people that play video games.I'm just grateful that the mindset present in threads like this, on the forums, don't really reflect what is experienced in-game.
I strongly dislike this idea that because 'you' find the game "too easy" everyone should. Makes me wonder if some view Zenos (and his 'nothing is challenging enough for me' mindset) as a role-model or something.
There are ways for the game to play easier for you while increasing the difficulty. And that would simply be to give us an option to make combos a single button press vs 2 or 3 different button sequences. I know every one hates add ons, but dalamud apparently does have that feature and may assist you.I would tend to agree with you. There are hard modes for a lot of content that would be more of a challenge for those seeking it. As for myself, I have several conditions, including Parkinson's disease, that make even some of the content done on easy mode still difficult for me to do. I do not know what specifically these proponents of making the game more challenging, are calling for, but if it means that the general level of challenge for everything gets raised, it might make this game no longer playable for me. I like the game as it is now.
Sadly that is how it was on release as well. But the extreme version was some actual good content.Agreed. I just finished Heavensward and I have to say the boss battle against King Thordan was...Unsatisfying. He literally got rekt'd. We steamrolled him and none of the party members' health fell below 80% the entire fight. I am not asking for harder mechanics but at least scale the hitpoints and damage of the boss based on the party's average item levels.
Consistent does not always mean good. FFXIV has a quantity over quality issue in many cases. And a lack of longevity in all cases.Would you rather we get only 1 raid update every 12 months instead? Or how about no raid updates for 3 years like swtor and when it finally did get one it was a single boss and the rest of the raid was added in piece by piece over the course of a year?

Sounds like you should just go play something else. Ya'll complain about content all the time, but have no idea just how good this game has it with always getting content on a consistent schedule. It may not cater to what YOU want, but content is content and pretty much none of the MMO's out there release consistent content updates every 3-4 months. Hell, even WoW goes for over a year before any real updates occur.
Would I like more focused content on the things I prefer like end game raiding? Sure, but at the same time I've played MMO's that core focused on that content and relegated the rest of the game to numbness and eventually turned end game into a horrible experience (I'm looking at you mythic+ and your stupid key system.)
Let me see if I have this straight. You want the developers to make this game harder past the point where somebody like me can complete the MSQs and your solution is to force me to try and find some kind of third party add-on in order to be able to play the game? What a thoroughly uncharitable person you are.There are ways for the game to play easier for you while increasing the difficulty. Not to mention that it essentially screws console players because, like it or not, this game does have people that play on PS4/PS5 and, to my knowledge, they don't have add on.Let me see if I have this straight. No I said that is a option that may help you as it is a feature that should already be in the game but the devs do own things to address button bloat over looking at common features people use add ons for.Let me see if I have this straight. Button bloat is not the problem for me. My condition flares up when I get sensory overload. This happens in fights that are packed full of mechanics. My nervous system then begins to short circuit and I lose some motor control. This makes doing high end content like raids and savage fights impossible for me. However, I really don't mind that I can't do that content. It's good that it is there for people who like more challenge and can handle it. There is still plenty more for me to have fun with. If some of you were to have your way though, even the content that I currently enjoy, including the MSQs, could very well become out of reach.
@eraden
Think the new trust system helps you? My wish for the game is that people who want easy can have two options. One is that you can advertise people to carry you which comes with uts own challenges but still possible and two being able to solo msq and dungeons with trusts where even if with trusts its challenging at least the solo playstyle lets you complete it at your own pace. And to make non trusts harder by allowing bosses to actually live past 5 minutes.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."
