New hrothgar hairstyles are really bad.

Just allowing them to swap between all racial hairstyles at the barber shop would have given every Hrothgar player 7 new hair styles to work with. And it would have taken less development time too. It's an insult that they chose to do this instead.

To me this just further solidifies the disrespect shown towards the western audience. We get in game promotion items later than JP or never. The devs also want to keep their "pure" JP data centers free of western players and even walled off OCE in a dead data center with no way to visit Tonberry and other JP servers they may have transferred from. Lastly this total lack of consideration that went into a race that is more popular in the west than JP.

At least on the JPN forums they are having this same discussion.
It’s evident their forums are monitored more by moderators more often, so hopefully the information will get passed along. I think in the ENG forums it needs to pretty much go above and beyond

This is honestly sad. I've only used a fatnasia once from Elezen to Hrothgar. I have never felt more connected to my character than I did as a Hrothgar.

That being said the customization has always been the worst in the game. The envy of seeing a bard walk by with a big flamboyant Amon's hat has always hit hard. But everyone kept telling me to wait, that more was coming. That Endwalker will have more hats and that we're getting more hair options soon. Here we are. All we can wear is a Little Lady's Crown, Moonward Hat of Aiming, that Garlean casting cap, and the helm from the Warrior artifact set. You can count on one hand the hat options we got in Endwalker that aren't masks/visors.

And we're supposed to get excited or feel grateful for this?



It feels bad when the devs neglect you for so long only to give you a half-assed rush job they probably worked on the night before.

I don't know what to do. I don't want to buy a fantasia because that'll only make some business exec happy with the numbers. But I also don't want to stay as Hrothgar because I've lost hope for customization options "in the future." We've been waiting years for this.

I'm considering unsubscribing to vote with my wallet. We pay the same monthly fee as any other player but are consistently shown by the devs that we aren't a priority.

They'll chalk up their neglect to Hrothgar being unpopular and therefore a low priority. It's their neglect that hurts the Hrothgar numbers the most. For an RPG they really missed the mark on character customization for Hrothgar.

The subject in the japanese forum seems less lively debated. There are less then 10 pages VS 35 here.
Maybe we should ask the official EN twitter if it was an april fool or not, at least, and relink this discussion ?

If so...its time for some new employee blood!!

Current employees in charge of 1)gear designs 2) character customizations
are obviously suffering from "Notalentitis"

Many gear /character designers are susceptible to this horrible affliction (see World of Warcraft for reference)

The Cure:

-Overhaul of "Talent"

- Time for some Tera quality designers.
- SE is so incredibly large and rich but repeatedly suffers stagnation from laziness and a bizarre fashion and character design sense.
-The occasional breakthrough can still occur, but the frequency is extremely low without a cure.

I dont comment on forums since even when things arent what I specifically like, I can usually see a good subsection of people having a positive reception to it. But uhhhh. I dont know anyone in or out of any of my social circles looking at these hairstyles as anything but a bad meme. I'm fine with not having access to hats if it meant I could wear the windcaller hair down the line, but even that seems like a futile hope now.
