It's because the majority of players figured out the solution: don't use it. It's kinda crazy I know.
^This.
OP: You presented a problem and asked SE to fix it.
Players suggested a solution that was already in the game countering your suggestion that SE has to fix it. Because sometimes players do miss things like that that are already in the game.
A better way to have presented it was:
"I thought of that as well, but then I lose out on the reason I put target lock on in the first place. I realize I'm likely in the minority of players, but wanted to suggest an alternate solution to the problem that would let me continue using target lock without the negative impact it has for me."
SE is more likely to implement the suggestion if they see others agree with it as well. Being combative to those who aren't immediately agreeing with you, isn't a good way to get others to agree with it. And it definitely isn't going to get those who don't agree with you to suddenly agree with you.
I effectively said all of those things in the original post. Several times. It's not my fault a bunch of mentors wanted to come in and try to save the day after I very clearly explained the situation. "Helping" people when they didn't ask for help doesn't make you helpful, it makes you a pest or a busybody.^This.

"Don't use it" isn't a solution, it's ignoring what could be a useful feature. It's not a solution. You don't fix things by ignoring them. I find it highly strange just how adverse or allergic the XIV community is in regards to fixing small oddities like this, instead opting to circumvent them, simply accept the jank or rough edges, or flat out ignore them and pretend it doesn't exist.
Thing is, Vile doesn't seem to want help, and mistook a forum for a complaint log aimed to devs.
If you've got something to ask off devs, do it in a live letter, when they ask for it, outside of it, they don't read the forums, althoughs CMs do and may pass some ideas to devs... Not sure they'll be willing to help someone that's as charming as you tho. If I got you as a client, I wouldn't try to help you more than once before just telling you to go shop elsewhere.
This place is used to discuss and argue, and you're just going around telling people to shut up...
There you go again with the combative nature.I effectively said all of those things in the original post. Several times. "Don't use it" is a solution to your problem. Just because the solution causes you an additional problem, doesn't make it any less of a solution to the problem.
Your solution could also give other players a problem. Anything that affects player movement and camera is likely to affect players who have set their preferences up based on how it currently is. You changing that, could have an impact on other players. What if there are players who like the way you move with Target Lock on? Are they just supposed to give way to your preference? What if more players prefer how it is over what your suggestion would do?
No, I don't think I will. I think I'll post it here, and let it be what it is. There wasn't a problem until would be forum hero's showed up and started telling me how I'm wrong for wanting to use it, what I really want is legacy movement, and not being interested in their help is telling them to shut up and that "this isn't what forums are for". So, so far, so good.Thing is, Vile doesn't seem to want help, and mistook a forum for a complaint log aimed to devs.

Usually, they offer, both, options. It's almost like, people who didn't like standard movement, were offered, legacy movement. It's almost like, it doesn't have to be, one or the other, and could be..... both..... shocker. There you go again with the combative nature.

LMAO girl I'm in awe over how you're painting yourself over these posts. No, I don't think I will. I think I'll post it here, and let it be what it is. And your combative nature of your replies turns people off from having this type of discussion with you.
So until you change your tone of your replies to be nice to those who do not agree that this is something that needs to be done (either not liking it or that it's not a big enough problem to warrant dev attention), this is my last reply to the topic. Because I don't want to get replies in the tone that you've been giving to others when I point out counter options.
As to your modified suggestion, it could be an issue of making the options too complicated to code and it boils down to: are there enough people who would benefit from this to warrant the time to implement.
Am I the only one who doesn't like the legacy type? I keep getting hit with the eye attacksI remember that when I tried target lock it made the game unplayable so I would suggest that you disable it and not use it.
This is a problem with the standard type movement settings. I suggest using legacy type movement settings, which allow you to avoid attacks without turning the camera at all. While using legacy, the camera rotates unless you uncheck "activate standard type auto-fly/auto-dive".
