I also expect that the Twelve are going to be Primals or something similar. Throughout the entire game I never got the impression that they were real, so it'd be weird for that to shift gears now.

I assume that shot in the trailer of WoL and G'raha disappearing into light will be going to the raid itself, like in some other plane or something. Though it might also be from the MSQ if Y'shtola has already found a way to go between shards, but I think it's less likely that she's already done that. I think that Shtola's stuff is going to be more long-term.

The dungeon looks like it's some islands near Thavnair.

It seems like the role quest finale will be about Voidsent? That's really interesting. Maybe this is where we'll get answers about Zenos's reaper avatar.

    Stares at the Answers cinematic.

We've never gotten an impression either way on whether they're real or not. Hell they may not even do so for the raid, somehow.

The Answers cinematic was very explicitly summoning them as Primals. That's why Louisoix had everyone praying to them, Primals are prayers + aether. That was what Gaius's whole rant in Praetorium was about.

We also know the myth of the Seven Hells/Heavens is false because we've seen the afterlife in this very expansion and it's just the aetherial sea. As is the legend that Midgardsormr was told to watch over Lake Silvertear by Althyk and Nymeia, because it was actually his pact with Hydaelyn that had him doing that. And back in 5.3 Urianger set up the idea that Azeyma was inspired by Azem.

I've never gotten the impression we were supposed to think they actually existed. So I doubt this raid is "really" them any more than Ysayle's Shiva was "really" Shiva.

Where are people getting that the robed people are ascians? Their robes don’t match the design of any of them, even the black masks, their robes were still fairly intricate and had the ascian design on them. Can’t be the lambs of dalamud either i suppose since their robes are red.

I'm curious if we will be going to other shards to fight the Twelve. Seems like it could be a really efficient way of giving us a tour of the remaining shards, especially since there seems to be some parallels between the Heavens/Hells and the Calamities, as well as the order of the Calamities and the cycle of elements.

If we could knock out six of the shards in one raid and then save the Void for some extra content, that would be extremely satisfying from a lore-building perspective. It would allow us to focus more on fleshing out the map on the Source, which is where I think most of the game's creativity and appeal lies.

I noticed some of the dungeon has looked to be in some underwater ruin. That and the Thravnirian aesthetic made me wonder if perhaps these are the ruins beneath the Bounty that Emet mentioned.

    Patch site updated: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/endwalker/patch_6_1/

Looks like G'raha is our point-of-contact for the new 24-man, so people wanting him to get an MSQ break appear to be getting their wish (unless he's only going to be as involved as Y'shtola was with Alexander). Also seems unrelated to whatever is or isn't going to happen in Corvos yet, so we can probably rule out a Midgardsormr conclusion. For now. Doesn't change how well his last 24-man went.

The vanishing into light could be related, or it could be a massive fakeout like summoning our companions in that one Bozja instance.

It looks like he's going to be involved in MSQ to at least some extent since he's shown in the dungeon and the scene which is presumably afterward with Varshahn (the room is the same as the boss room with the blue floor and "spike pits"). Urianger is also there, which is interesting.

As much as I love the Scions I was hoping for focus on maybe 1-2 of them per patch, so I am hoping the main focus will be on Y'shtola and Estinien this time and that G'raha and Urianger's roles will be small here. At least a couple of the G'raha shots in the trailer are definitely from the AR (him in Rhalgr's Reach at the start, and the two of them disappearing over Silvertear Lake which fits in perfectly with the revealed AR screenshots) so I am hoping for a more narrowly-focused MSQ, character-wise.

Most primals are based on real people or things, but a version that changed enough from the real entity over time. Shiva, Garuda, Thordan, etc. come to mind. It's hard to say what direction they'll go, but the twelve were almost certainly real people at one point. They might even still be around and alive. We've gotten hints at both of those points.

Given the kangaroo minion, I'm wondering if there might be some link to Meracydia happening somewhere.

Memes aside, I'm curious about the map shown in the trailer, which from context might be the treasure map that Estinien paid (too much) for.

    Spoiler-blocking for size:

Do we know where this is? I admit I don't recall any place on the world map that looks like this, but I'm pretty bad at remembering the shapes of archipelagos (despite living next to one).

For the Alliance Raid, the bosses are definitely Byregot (and his crown of hammers), Rhalgr, Azeyma, and Nald'Thal. Speculation I've read elsewhere notes that these are the deity pairs of the Lightning and Fire elements. Also related, they're the first four deities of the Twelve in order as presented in the lorebook, starting from the top right and going counter-clockwise. Which means, if we're sticking to four of the Twelve for each raid, the next raid will be Nophica, Althyk, Halone, and Menphina (for Earth and Ice), then Thaliak, Nymeia, Llymlaen, and Oschon (for Water and Wind). Having said that, I'm not as convinced, because that would be too predictable; I'm expecting something to shake up the formula.
