What's the point with that quite lackluster story in Endwalker?

Yeah I wasn't aware that I needed to drink deeply of the knowledge of the moon rabbits and let that supersede what I took away from actually spending time with the Ancients themselves.

As many problems as I have with Venat, the visceral hatred I felt for Cookingway in that moment was on its own level. Would happily roast and eat that rabbit, with a side of root vegetables.

EW was self help book levels of preaching. The moon bunnies are creations of Hydaelyn and, like everything else involving her, are biased AF. I wish they hadn't dropped Hydaelyn tempering because so much involving her makes more sense if she did.

They're not even consistent in their apparent views and beliefs, since this is the lore surrounding one of the optional dungeons:

In pursuit of an answer, the Loporrits created the Big Cheese, designed to make manifest all they might need and more to fulfill the needs of their passengers-to-be. They were eager to please─perhaps, too eager─and their plans became more fickle, each new idea a betrayal of the last. The Big Cheese now burrows toward the center of the moon, a labyrinth of contradiction left in its wake. If left unchecked, its wanton pursuit of happiness may very well spell the end of the moon.
