Etiquette is whatever the party leader (and their friends) decide. It's not to say that's bad in itself; it's just really the way the way it is. Some groups will be chill and some groups will let their inner greed lapse their judgement.Joined a PF map party: "all level maps; FFA we will provide maps"
We worked on some gazelle maps. I lopen one myself, despite the suggestion that I don't need to. I looted a thief map. Party lead is asking me to open while I still have a gazelle going. We run my gazelle and get all the way to the end of the dungeon, securing two more thief maps (one went to the party lead, the other went elsewhere). Overall, I came out with nothing from my own map. We finish up and exit. The party lead still wants me to open my thief map. I say I'd like to take a break and let someone else run theirs.
This drags on and gets blown out of proportion and I end up getting kicked.
I'm curious about the general etiquette on thief map loots. There was no specification that they belong to the group and nothing was said at the start. I have a small stack from runs I did with friends. On this and a number of other occasions, my good fortune blesses people with a full run and a tick towards achievement with plenty of loot and it just feels greedy to ask for more.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I'm not a DNC main, but have a firm understanding of the tooltips and rotation. As you probably already know, activating Standard Step locks you out of all your other GCDs until you execute Standard Finish. The steps don't cause damage by themselves but rather pump up SF's overall potency along with the damage boost it gives you and your dance partner. Assuming you perform both of the required steps, the 720 pot and the 5% damage boost is applied when you execute SF. This is when you will see the damage and the DMG buff register in the chat log.Had a question for you about this as a future Dancer Alt (maybe even main?) I saw in the past Standard Step's potency was higher than it is today.
How many GCDs does it take to get the 720 potency? Is it 1. Standard Step. 2. Dance. 3. Dance. 4. 720 Potency with AE?
I wasn't sure if I should be casting this every 30 seconds due to the number of GCDs it takes. I'm pretty sure once I hit Standard, I have a GCD Cooldown before Dance 1, and another for Dance 2. I need to pay more attention if I can Finish immediately or if I have another GCD. But if it's 4 GCDs, would it be better to fish for Fan Dance procs instead of reapplying immediately?
Furthermore, I had some confusion with this tooltip that you might share, and that was whether or not the bonuses are applied to the initial SF being executed. The answer to that is no. They will be applied on your next SF, but will be given to your Technical Step/Technical Finish which you will immediately do following SF.
The idea behind mechanics like this is the non damage GCDs you use are returned to you when using the actual damage skill. WHM Afflatus Misery and NIN Mudras are other examples of this.
I just got out of World of Darkness, and I am so sick of the sound of Eukrasian Prognosis now. Because the SGE in my alliance LITERALLY cast it every GCD. I watched them cast it FIVE TIMES IN A ROW while everyone was full HP. Followed up by FOUR NAKED PROGNOSIS CASTS and then ANOTHER EUKRASIAN PROGNOSIS. Like oh my god. And this went on the ENTIRE RAID.

I firmly believe that you shouldn't be able to unlock the higher-level jobs without first manually leveling another job within the same role. I'm sick of SGEs who've never touched another healer past 20 spamming Prog / E Prog.I just got out of World of Darkness, and I am so sick of the sound of Eukrasian Prognosis now. I give up with you people. Forum community is absolutely unhinged. Imagine joining my alt's FC just to wait for me to come online to harass me lmao.
you're assuming that they would play any different on ast, sch or whm, which they most likely didn't

I detest the sound of most GCD aoe heals in general because I've heard them get spammed so many times. If I could turn off specific sound effects, Medica II would be the first to go followed by EProg.I just got out of World of Darkness, and I am so sick of the sound of Eukrasian Prognosis now. In my recent MSQ roulette I had a WHM that just spammed Medica II during every boss fight and even SC it on the run between cutscenes. Nothing was happening, everyone was full life and they just spammed 4 Medica II in a row, ran from left to right and back, spammened 3 Medica II in a row and so on. The entire 40min that is Prae. I was one step short of turning off game sounds.
The worst offender by far are WHMs but many SGEs really fight for that 2nd place in being the most annoying and ear bleeding-inducing healer.
Only because I don't hear it nearly as often as I hear Medica IIs. And I didn't say I want to keep those sounds only that they're not top priority to get rid off
I've had a couple of noodle heal spammers in SB/ ShB dungeons when leveling tank but by the gods, that Medica II spam... I had healers trying to heal wall to walls with Medica II.
The only fun thing about it was trying to click off the regen of every unnecessary Medica II as fast as I could. Nice additional difficulty during NM.
