Personally Souls do the feel of the epic better than XIV ever has. They all tend to feel much more mythological and structured like older writing styles. That being said, Radahn is a based gigachad.Tbh while I do enjoy the lore and the mystery surrounding it in Souls games, it still feels a bit pointless to me.
Especially since there's not really any continuation the games are all essentially standalone.
So while you have characters that are indeed cool and interesting, I just tend to feel now like I barely get to know anything other than scattered details and it kinda doesn't go anywhere.
It kinda ends up feeling like just fluff in a way and like the actual story of the characters is missing.
It does feel epic, the atmosphere and visuals were incredible and did a great job at making the world feel ancient and with a ton of history.
I just kinda felt like you only got summaries and character bios basically.
I wish you learned more about Radahn for example and that he had more of a presence rather than essentially just showing up and killing him.
It's how the Souls games have always been I've just started thinking about it more recently and it does make it feel a tad empty to me.
It's like they present this incredible world and characters but then only gives us a sprinkle instead of the whole cake.
