SE is the one forcing the new launcher on us. The game runs perfectly fine on linux with the old launcher; which you can still use - if you are not on steam. Only steam users got the middle finger from SE.

But how is that squares problem? It sucks for linux users, but ya'll are the ones choosing to play on an unsupported OS. Clearly there was issues of fraud likely from key resellers and other security concerns so they felt the need to create changes for steam, and I'd put money down that the old launcher is probably going away for non steam users as well. Who knows when, but I guarantee its going away for the regular version as well if they are phasing it out for steam users.
