I could see them reasonably framing the FF I fiends as blasphemies in the context of XIV.
I'm mostly curious what region the trial series is going to take place in with how many have been name dropped, though.

Yeah, I'm still hoping for the 4 Fiends myself. But we'll have to see

There might be others I don't remember but off the top of my head:
Identies if The Twelve
Islands of the Blindfrost
Ruins beneath the Bounty
Meracydia
New World golden cities
The Twelve are taken for alliance raids, and the last two seem like good contenders for future expansions.
If I were a betting hrothguy, I'd say the ruins of the Bounty would be our Deep Dungeonn which leaves the Blindfrost.
Now I first considered Island Sanctuaries, however those are much more likely to be closer to home and probably in Vylbrand.
So, what's likely to be up in the Blindfrost? Could it have Bozjan/Garlean ties? Or something completely new?
Aenslaent is mentioned by two of the B team Scions as a place they were looking into checking up on and it's also mentioned the skies were ablaze over parts of the Northern Empty, which is where said island is located. Given its isolation, it would be a prime location for an unchecked blasphemy threat to have manifested, and its relative closeness to Old Sharlayan would also make it easily accessible if the need arose.
We know scarce little about the land aside from the fact that a significant number of Sea Wolves attempted a rebellion there out of discontent for the rule, only be forced into exile which led to eventually them founding Limsa Lominsa. It's also on the small side so being relegated to a side story seems like the optimal treatment for it.

Meracydia is kind of likely just an abandoned wasteland, after the war with Allag and being left alone for 2 Umbral Calamities (Sixth, the flood. And Seventh, Bahamut).
I don't think the trials are happening there, and it might not even really have anything there enough for an expansion... The only thing that's likely there is Azdaja, the last of Midgarsormr's kids who kept themselves hidden and hasn't been answering the other dragon's calls.
But that aside, to build on the idea of it being the FF 1 Four Fiends for the trial...
Because Tiamat is already a major part of the lore she's kind of out, that leaves us with Lich, Marilith and Kraken.
Kraken in FF1 was fought in the Underwater Shrine, which would easily be at the bottom of the Bounty.
Marilith was fought inside Mt. Gulg, while we have a Mt. Gulg in the First, there are probably some active volcanoes in the Source we could charge into for a fight, much to Emet's annoyance.
Which would leave Lich, who's cave wasn't in any particular location really and could easily be placed anywhere in the world...

We don't actually know how is Meracydia anyways so saying that there nothing is kinda weird, there might be a lot of change that happened over there.Meracydia is kind of likely just an abandoned wasteland, after the war with Allag and being left alone for 2 Umbral Calamities (Sixth, the flood. And Seventh, Bahamut).

Pretty much. They've likely left it unknown so it's a blank slate.
It's basically Australia so it would be odd to have absolutely nothing there.

That's how I was thinking they could fit in. If you do the role quests after finishing MSQ, there's dialogue that acknowledges that you saved the world. There are existing blasphemies out there, but people still turn during the story. So we haven't escaped from the effects of dynamis just because the Song of Oblivion is gone and it's not far-fetched for more blasphemies to come about.
I also thought using I's set would be subverting expectations like another poster mentioned, since everyone expects the versions from IV.

Which to my mind would just be the FFI bosses: Lich, Kraken, and Kali.

both sb and shb featured raid bosses removed from the normal laws of the game, Omega having bosses inspired by legends, Eden having primals forged from our own memories.
So really Tiamat and Kraken arent necessarily off the table if they use the same kind of justification.
