both sb and shb featured raid bosses removed from the normal laws of the game, Omega having bosses inspired by legends, Eden having primals forged from our own memories.

So really Tiamat and Kraken arent necessarily off the table if they use the same kind of justification.

Yeah except I am talking the trial series, not the raids. I suppose they could go that route with trials, they just historically have not yet.

The Omega raids also tied into FFVI (Phantom Train, Jidoor Mansion, Kefka's Tower) and FFI (Temple of Chaos) as well, so they've already been accommodated raid-wise. And the Four Lords in SB were specifically based on their appearences as HNMs in FFXI, right down to including the references to Tenzen (who was a major character in FFXI's Chains of Promathia story). The next raid series is already accounted for anyway and is going to be FFXIV-lore specific (the Myths of the Realm, about the murky origins, history and reality of The Twelve), so that all but rules out a new FF fanservice raid in the near future at least I'm sorry to say.

Sorry, just saw this. While I generally agree with that logic, I do have to observe that covering VI with the Warring Triad did not prevent the Omega raids covering additional FF6 boss material. So the fact that Omega had one FFI boss does not necessarily preclude other FFI bosses, and in fact the same could be said for any game.

I just think that we are more likely to get bosses from an as-yet unrepresented game before the devs double up on III/V/VI/VII/VIII content, and that following past patterns it likely won't involve II or IV since the MSQ and Pandaemonium are focusing on those. FFI just falls in a sort of limbo since it is *mostly* unrepresented in expansion material.

Earth Archfiend is kinda a pushover in FF4 cuz he is an undead, thus weak to both fire and holy), two in trials, a solo instance where you fight the Fire Archfield, before moving to the final trial where fight all four archfiends at once. Then they merge in Phase 2.

The Lich part feels like a rehash of the Stormblood raids.

Pretty much. They've likely left it unknown so it's a blank slate.
It's basically Australia so it would be odd to have absolutely nothing there.

There is still no sign of it being Australia-based other than approximate position, and that's still "wrong" (too far westward under "Asia"). It is showing more signs of being Africa-based from the few artefacts and native species we are aware of.

While I agree that it seems more African than Australian, geography is not a great basis for judging what real-world inspiration a region is going to take. So far, we have:

* "Europe" in FFXIV being shaped like Brazil but positioned where African could/should be.
* "Greece" being far north where Britain could/should be.
* The Levant and the Balkans being pushed to the other side of the Asian continent, wedged up against China and Vietnam.
* The Pashtun and Tibetan Plateau being lumped in with Turkey, yet Istanbul being relocated to Moorish southern Europe, which is somehow surrounded by Egypt and the American Southwest.

It's not a one-to-one thing, more times than it is.

Well Exodus is kiiiind of ExDeath. Just like Chaos is kind of Chaos.

And I would honestly be a tad disappointed if we got Ivalician Zeromus instead of FFVI Zeromus.

Just some wild thoughts as fun speculation~

FF4 - Four Fiends seem very predictable and likely at the same time - it would fit the extra post story trial formula quite well

FF1 - Four Elemental guardians - similar to FF4 but would fit with the release of the new spinoff games that's going to be released with the obsessed chaos slayer Jack (basically free momentary promo and long term fanservice, also the first FF and thus would fit the grand adventure theme)

FF10 - "Dark Aeons" - a bit if a stretch but the Magus sisters and Anima could get corrupted by dynamis and summoned by a dark force. It would fit with the areas where the scions are currently as guest appearances. Would fit the theme of end/postgame bonus bosses.

FF13-2 - "Bahamut Trio" - quite cheap option of recolored bahamuts Garnet/Amber/Jet Bahamut (which might be Tataru's carbuncles going on a rampage lol)

FF13-3 - "Corrupted Scions" - wild thought similar to what happened to Snow in that game but with our Scions instead, giving them super cool transformation models in a "what if they would transform" and or "what if they'd turn into demi-blasphemies (and then Tataru wakes up from the nighmares...)

FF14 - Original Legends of the Continent - even more so of a stretch, we go to take a look at the myths that are drawn on the map of eorzea like the mega giant in the clouds if Ilsabard and the big whale that is not bismark

That's kind of my point. It might be the closest thing geographically to Australia but it's seeming more like Africa got partly fused onto Europe (e.g. Sagolii Desert, possibly tropical zone at the south) and the rest became the disconnected "southern continent".

It's also entirely possible that there is no "trial series" akin to HW/SB/ShB, but instead each patch trial will be part of the new msq that begins with 6.1 (instead of 7.0)
This would be more like ARR where the patch trials were msq content.
