The tank, however by demanding everyone to conform to his/her own selfishness, and decide to "teach anyone who not obey a lesson by letting them die" is strictly an ego issue, which as a reminder, the whole point of the OP.

It's funny how you quicky assume the mentaility of tank who refused to take over aggro for those who decides to pull without tank on their own volition.

If you wish to continue this discussion in such manner, then I can also say that those who pull without tank are trying to teach the tank a lesson of how tanks should be played. it fits your Ego 101 to me

Maybe you're actually talking about the situation the OP was in instead of general tanks? Then in that case, both sides are being rude to each other. That tank could have handled it better by asking to stop pulling after taking over aggro. The puller should have asked if the tank is okay with it

The thing I always wall to wall and run ahead the party anyway, the other members can't pull for me even if they try. In almost a decade playing this game, that had happened probably a handful of time that I can remember. And each time I just grab the mobs off them and move, no problemnemo ... not like tanking in this game is hard.

So un-suprisingly, I rarely, if ever has reason to be frustrated at my party behavior. On the other hand, if someone run into issues so often that it 'cause them to swear it off (like the other poster I replied to above) then I think a moment of self-reflection is warranted. And again, ego tend to get in the way of doing that.

If you constantly have a problem with the universe, then the problem is not the universe, it's you. That's pretty much EGO 101.

When I tank, I wall to wall pull every single time. However, that doesn't mean I don't understand the sentiment of those who do not wish to do wall to wall pulls.

There is no assumption, any tank who says "if the DPS pull I gonna let them die to teach them a lesson" is a clear ego-centrist statement, and that's the specific scenario the OP is talking about, which is exactly the specific point I'm also talking about.

You're trying to reach and shift it to something else entirely. As someone who play on 4 characters I run into sprout a lot and I have no problem with them pulling 1 pack at a time. We're talking about adult specifically here and you're trying the "but think about the children too!". Well, I'm not talking about the children. This is not the "let's beat the dead horse" discussion about what is the right way to tank.

IDK, I have no horse in this discussion, but today I had a Dead Ends where I admit, I as the healer was sprinting a little ahead of the tank, and at the packs before the last boss the tank turned off his stance and let me die. I've never met a tank with the "you pull you tank" mentality until today, so it's a bit anecdotal. But it happens.

Here's my anedoctal story. 3 months ago I was aiming for Warrior tank achievement. The Leveling Roulette got me into Amaurot. I died during the big pull before the first boss despite every defensive cooldown I have had been used, including Arm's Length. I assume the healer was inexperienced, so I took it slow. The pulls after the first boss was still big because the dps and the healer were aggroing adds for me. I died again. Later, I asked them not to pull. No repsond. They kept pulling without me. The healer used Resue on me, uging me to do big pulls again. I obliged. We died. After respawning, I refuse to take aggro for them again. The healer used Recue on me AGAIN, pulling me to the horde they gathered. I ran back to the small group of ememies I pulled myself. They died, of course. I lived. I got kicked

Guess what their, aka non tank puller, mentality were.
