The games popularity only increased because Blizzard ruined there game with Shadowlands. Once Blizzard drops there next expansion most of this huge influx of players will flock back.
This games surge of popularity pretty much came from youtube and twitch not good design philosophy.

It's both. The popularity of twitch AND good game philosophy. If the game didn't have good game philosophy, then Twitch wouldn't give it the hype it has. Case in point. Twitch popularity = good game philosophy. Your head games won't work here. Nice try though.
