Ok, I'ma need to stop you right here.

Frontlines is played because of the following:
- unlike Feast, it is currently without role-restrictions - you can join as any job, making the actual queue times a matter of "do we have 72".
- unlike Rival Wings, Frontlines has four flavours to pick from and has its' own daily "Roulette" incentivising at least daily queue

To cite "Competitive" or "Ranked" as the reasons of failure of The Feast is disingenuous. The problem isn't so much that Ranked exists, the problem is that up until 6.1 with the release of the Series Passes and a general restructuring of the incentive system there simply wasn't any reason to play anything other than Frontlines, because Frontlines is the only mode with the following key points:

- ease of understanding the fundamentals in Frontlines
- ease of joining due to no role restrictions
- additional incentives via Daily Challenge, because let's face it:

The majority of the western community lives and dies by incentive and won't turn a finger without it.

Removal of role restriction in 5v5 Crystal Conflict and incentivising other gamemodes other than Frontlines via the Series Pass (which won't replace Ranked Seasons btw, they can and will co-exist) will make joining those gamemodes much easier than before and most likely bring more fresh blood into the PvP community, especially those who want to PvP but dislike how Frontlines plays, myself included.
