I believe she stated in her final speech that what she did wasn't worthy of praise. More after everything she saw, she felt it was her only option to keep her people from completely destroying themselves. The way the story was presented, it worked out in the end, but she didn't do it because it was the right thing to do, she didn it because she felt it was the only recourse.

She took a gamble that paid off. But she wasn't a monster like some want to make her it to be. She had her reasons for doing it, much like Emet did his, but he gets praised for murdering billions to try to restore things to the way they were, while she gets treated as if she's a psychopath.

You can say the game is biased towards her, but no more than the forums are baised against her.
