On JP servers those who tend to leave are usually the English client folks. They just add to the bad reputation of English speakers. If you queue for MSQ, know that you can get either. Do whatever you get. Fishing for a specific duty in a roulette with random folks is just bad manners on JP servers.

Fluent in English, Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese and German. Just another typical non-Japanese player in Alexander (Gaia DC).

Any proof of that? Or is it just the "I'm cool because i hate on Americans" we all know and love on the internet.

If you read my comment, I mentioned JP servers. Most Americans don't play there, I'm referring to the English speakers on JP. If you want proof(even screenshots won't prove anything) , queue for it daily on JP, when you load in check the social tab for those on English client. Those who leave on loading then to be the English speakers. JP players can be toxic in their own way, but at least they commit to the duty they queue for.

I think peeps would be less inclined to ditch Castrum when hunting for EXP if they would do that.
This. I started screenshotting my xp bar before doing msq roulettes on my various jobs to get an exact comparison of the two. I only get 44.5% of a lvl at 76 for castrum vs 81% for prae. And since prae is only 15mins longer, castrum should be 2/3 prae, not half or less.

They don't need to be 'equal' but at least comparable per time spent, and a lot less people would drop.

Equalizing rewards will just make people drop Praetorium for the faster duty. Getting rid of Castrum defeats the point of a roulette. Making cutscenes skippable creates an unfriendly newbie experience.

Speaking from personal experience, Praetorium sucked ass back when I was a sprout and the cutscenes were skippable. No one said a word to me, skipped the first mob, I got killed for attacking the mob, and got stuck at the start. Then the group killed the first boss before I could even get there. This is supposed to be the moment my character is praised by the plot for outstanding heroism, and I'm stuck at the front door because I didn't know this dungeon has an hour of cutscenes everyone else saw before.

If you'd get Meridianum 100% of the time, then Praetorium the second time, and both gave their rewards, many people would do both. Faced with one or the other with uneven amount of time and rewards, it comes down to "do I want it done fast, or do I want a big chunk of XP", and many are trying to get a level for an alt job. Even with Meridianum being bumped to 70%, many people would still go for Praetorium, because a) it's still more XP for the once-a-day activity, and b) you can afk through most of it, while Meridianum is hectic running around most of the time, and the cutscenes are too short even for a quick bio break.

I don't have anything profound to share, except that I'm on the fence on this. For this I'm only talking about normal mode. Don't do Savage so don't really care what they do with Savage.

On the one hand I don't mind quickly getting my weekly rewards when I'm busy. On the other hand I don't need them except for glamour, since tomestone gear is better and I literally don't need any of that gear because I don't do Savage.

Although I would love to have the option of experiencing more elaborate content, the problem is that elaborate content tend to become repetitive, boring and annoying once you force players to farm it every week.

Overall I think FFXIV has a workable formula that was born out of compromise, and there seem to be little willingness to explore and innovate. FFXIV is a piece of sculpture that is being constantly refined, attention being paid to every last detail. But it's always going to be the same old sculpture and can never be anything more than what it is. Considering it's in the 10th year and still have some very archaic limitations, I think FFXIV is already in the cash cow phase. They just need FFXIV to maintain a healthy population of subscribers, even if just out of habit, until they can have the next MMO ready for launch.

Buff the Exp Reward in Castrum.
Keep Prae a guaranteed Level and maybe abit more, like a little under a quarter.
And make Castrum give abit over 3/4ths.

The issue is compared to Prae, it feels like you dont get anything. So sure its shorter...but If the goal is to level then people will want the bigger option.
40-50 minutes of cutscene hell for a little over a whole level? YES PLEASE.
15-20 minutes for barly if even half a level? Nah pass.
