Regarding Yoshida-san's Recent Message to Fans

I pretty much stopped doing duty finder. Up until Endwalker, I'd always level my white mage first. With endwalker I switched to reaper, and my white mage hasn't really seen any game time at all.

I work 60 hours a week on a quiet week, up to 80 hours a week when it's a bit more busy. I'm the lead developer of an in-house software that the whole company uses, and it's seldom that we get any compliments. It's usually complaints about things taking too long to implement, or things not working like they should, even though the requirements for said feature were approved beforehand by those complaining the most.

When I get home, and when I'm actually motivated enough to log in at all, I prefer to stick with my squadron and trusts, as they don't complain when I'm not 100% perfect, which I never am. Dark knight has actually been quite enjoyable to play with my squadron

Tankxiety is easy to cure. Just don't tank. I'll wait in the queue a little longer for a tank that isn't scared of tanking, thanks.

No, the only way to cure tanxiety is for that person to just do more tanking. Its like getting a shot.

How about stop with this discouraging attitude, be less of a Dilbert and just be more supportive of people whom are trying to learn to tank so that we can get more and better tanks in this game? Tanking is not hard. Dealing with people who have this attitude towards you like what you're showing is and I know we shouldnt try to encourage "special snowflakes" and some folk need to just get over it but we can try to act like rational decent human beings once and practice hard what this game preaches sometimes.

The general player attitude and a lot of the responses in this thread are why more people don't tank. This isn't exclusive to FFXIV...it pervades the entire MMO-sphere, and will only continue to get worse until people remember how to be human beings.

You checked history or the news at least in the recent past? I think you forgot that being a human being was always being a evil sack of kuponuts. I mean we only have peace cause we hold each other loaded guns on the heads and dare each other to pull the trigger. xD So better try to say "until people are actually good" cuz being a human being is far faaaar away from that.

Ranked game? Rankxiety.
Tanking? Tankxiety.
Healing? Healxiety.

Anxiety is a personal problem where, in the current case of tankxiety, it's about going out of your comfort zone.
You only need to get used to it. It will take time for some people but there is a point where you're basically immune to that type of anxiety.

If you experience anxiety, don't cower next to your comfort zone and avoid confrontation/conflict.
Blast out of it gun blazing like if there was no tomorrow.

The good part is that it can help you to deal with other type of anxiety.

It seems that someone in the dev team tried to play a tank for the first time. And the experience was not so good. But now there is hope that they will improve the tank gameplay.

It's a basic human emotion called fear. It's easy to say "just do it!" To someone who can't. We could exchange paragraphs, but the point is people are multifaceted. You don't know what they've been through and what they can handle.

Had a mentor absolutely lose their marbles when I lost control of one mob in a single pull in a dungeon.
Attitudes like this, that any mistake at all is intolerable, that anything but perfect gameplay all the time is unacceptable, is definitely making me want to stop queueing, so mission accomplished I guess?

I think you and many others are why people only tank for friends or use trusts then you cry tears when there isn't enough tanks to go around.
Some of you have some really poor attitudes and then lose your absolute minds when a tank messes up once or even a healer.
People fail to see that we are still humans behind the screen and have feelings. I mean, this whole topic just confirms the bad attitudes.
There's some very wrong with people if you're targeting and harassing the devs and other players over a video game.
