Tankxiety is easy to cure. Just don't tank. I'll wait in the queue a little longer for a tank that isn't scared of tanking, thanks.

No, the only way to cure tanxiety is for that person to just do more tanking. Its like getting a shot.
How about stop with this discouraging attitude, be less of a Dilbert and just be more supportive of people whom are trying to learn to tank so that we can get more and better tanks in this game? Tanking is not hard. Dealing with people who have this attitude towards you like what you're showing is and I know we shouldnt try to encourage "special snowflakes" and some folk need to just get over it but we can try to act like rational decent human beings once and practice hard what this game preaches sometimes.

If they're <60 as a tank (generously new) then I'll be supportive. Above that I'd rather they not queue. No, the only way to cure tanxiety is for that person to just do more tanking. Its like getting a shot.

Had a mentor absolutely lose their marbles when I lost control of one mob in a single pull in a dungeon.
Attitudes like this, that any mistake at all is intolerable, that anything but perfect gameplay all the time is unacceptable, is definitely making me want to stop queueing, so mission accomplished I guess?
That's where I'm at with tanking. I had one super toxic experience with a "good" player and now you couldn't catch me tanking. I'll still level the jobs to 90, but I'm not doing in dungeons with strangers. I'm not perfect as a person and I can jump into that pool anytime I want, but still I'm hesitant to ever do it again. It only took one bad run to make me feel like that. To me anyway tanking takes confidence on my part and some says I can and some days I can't. And this forcing meta of going as fast as possible isn't a good environment for me as a player to better myself. It's like the exact opposite and I get overwhelmed and leave. To each their own, but I always hate people who are like "just adapt to the meta forehead" without understanding that people aren't all the same.Had a mentor absolutely lose their marbles when I lost control of one mob in a single pull in a dungeon.

Might be an idea to create a cross world linkshell, and invite some people who don't mind going slow / making mistakes / helping people out. Way back when we had such a linkshell on Phoenix, and there were always plenty people around to do stuff with. I think most of those people quit playing now though, so it's not been active for years.Had a mentor absolutely lose their marbles when I lost control of one mob in a single pull in a dungeon.

Pretty sure there's plenty people around who would like to join such a linkshell.

I was in a similar community in another mmo, one specifically made for people who were tired/afraid of rampant elitism in super casual content.Might be an idea to create a cross world linkshell, and invite some people who don't mind going slow / making mistakes / helping people out. Sadly that community got... well, elitist.
Personally I have a really nice and relaxed FC to queue premades with, but such a linkshell would probably be just the thing for a lot of people.

Yeah, that can happen as well, usually once people start getting more comfortable with their jobs and want to start doing higher end stuffI was in a similar community in another mmo, one specifically made for people who were tired/afraid of rampant elitism in super casual content.

I'm also in a nice FC, but due to my work hours, I'm pretty much always behind on things, and / or online at times they aren't.

Actually true, I used to have a shitton of anxiety for ridiculous things. No, the only way to cure tanxiety is for that person to just do more tanking. Its like getting a shot.

Ranked game? Rankxiety.
Tanking? Tankxiety.
Healing? Healxiety.
Anxiety is a personal problem where, in the current case of tankxiety, it's about going out of your comfort zone.
You only need to get used to it. It will take time for some people but there is a point where you're basically immune to that type of anxiety.
If you experience anxiety, don't cower next to your comfort zone and avoid confrontation/conflict.
Blast out of it gun blazing like if there was no tomorrow.
The good part is that it can help you to deal with other type of anxiety.

It's a basic human emotion called fear. It's easy to say "just do it!" To someone who can't. We could exchange paragraphs, but the point is people are multifaceted. You don't know what they've been through and what they can handle.Actually true, I used to have a shitton of anxiety for ridiculous things.
