Let us be real if you suffer from any form of anxiety based off playing a video game you have far greater issues and maybe playing the game is not something you should be doing with random players.

It's a form of social anxiety. It's the exact same kind of anxiety one may have when they are new to a neighborhood, school, or job.
If you want to be real, it would likely be best to not trivialize anxiety, or any other natural human response to stimuli just because it is a video game. People should be encouraged to face their anxiety in the face instead of running away from it as most do. That is how you conquer it.
Face it on their own time not with randos and expect randos to put up with it. Having anxiety over a video game is the perfect example of trivial, and if I suffered from social anxiety I sure as hell would not want it to be lumped in with likes of tankxiety. We really need to put this handholding cuddle me Elmo mindset out like a limp racing horse. Cause it is not worth the effort to try and justify why someone should have their anxiety over a video game validated by the rest of the community. It's a form of social anxiety. Anxiety over things like a video games has always had a solution, it is as simple as getting better at the game or whatever task you are trying to perform that brings you anxiety. Once you get better and more comfortable your anxiety will melt away. Cause at the care anxiety in video games based around a fear of failure in some form or another, only way to overcome that is to get better end of story. Just do not expect everyone to be as understanding on your journey to get better.

Just disable your chat log and you can tank anxiety free. Easy.
Tanking low level in ARR is way more challenging than tanking nowadays. Remember when marauders ran out of TP from overpower?![]()
tankxiety exists due to newbies role expectations of an MMO. Especially coming from pre-conceptions of role responsibility in other high end MMOs such as World of Warcraft and the toxicity it can stem. Ive had it, but the thing is you quickly learn how easy and simple tanking is in FFXIV, especially thanks to its very casual dungeon/boss designs. However one could still get nervous when jumped into a new duty or doing mob pulls for the first time within that dungeon.
The issue is that this situation exists but we can be better about it as a community by encouraging our tanks and let them know its fine. To people who have tankxiety, I tell you this. Its ok to have that bit of fear but dont worry about making mistakes or letting the group down as the role isnt as complicated as you make it out to be. Just say you're new to the duty and that you'll do your best and 95% everyone in that group will be chill about it. The more you do dungeons, trials and raids as a tank the faster you get that confidence with both that role and your job.
This has been your PSA on tanking lol
Imagine getting anxiety over a game lmaaaaoooo
Which roles and stop wasting everyone’s time
