I think checking these are important, so I don't think you are, imho. Whether or not anything happens, it can give us insight to what could be going down. I always take a peek at them myself.This. And on that note, Square recently made this post on Eternal Bonding restrictions: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...8c8d4b1d07e380
I never pay attention to these kinds of posts, but some friends seem to think that the density of potential emergency maintenance dates within the same week(s) was unusual. We're already past the first group of three dates. But, theoretically (big emphasis there - I don't want to get anyone's hopes up), they could use any one of these emergency maintenance periods to push a hotfix. It might not be related at all, and even if it is, it might take longer than they expect. We should NOT let ourselves be disappointed if these dates come and go without the audio being fixed. But can anyone who regularly looks at Eternal Bonding restriction posts comment on whether this is a particularly strange list?
Before anyone asks, yes, I am painfully aware I am grasping at straws.
Just stumbled on this thread and wanted to chime in because I am apparently the Intel unicorn here. Just built a new system tonight with a brand new 12th Gen Intel(R) Core i5-12600k. Audio drivers updated (from Gigabyte's driver site for my exact motherboard). Graphics drivers updated (GeForce RTX 3080).
Ran a Trust dungeon to test things and audio started stuttering about 5-seconds into a 4-mob pack. Graphics were fine. Turned sound off and did some troubleshooting and, after nothing simple worked, I "solved" it by signing up for the Immerse Spatial Audio trial and enabling it. Instantly fixed the stuttering.
Re-ran the dungeon toggling it on and off to see its affect on my CPU. With ISA on (no stuttering) CPU utilization was steady at around 20% in combat, lower out of combat. Turning ISA off in combat caused immediate stuttering and CPU utilization climbed to 25%. Too bad that the sound effects sound worse with ISA than they did on my 3-year-old rig.
I'm not going to go out of my way yet to find some crazy hardware/software setting fix to get around this.
EDIT: Getting the latest Windows 10 version updated (something I was struggling with last night and hadn't done before logging in to FFXIV) appears to have fixed my stuttering without needing to use ISA.

Thankfully, you won't have to since it's not a problem on your end. :3Just stumbled on this thread and wanted to chime in because I am apparently the Intel unicorn here. Dont forget that PS4 users are also experiencing this issue so thats a whole nother mess and a half 0_0
Did anyone on a PS5 report the issue? I missed it if they did.

Updated my post above re. new Intel CPU issue: I finished upgrading to the latest (November 2021) Windows 10 version and it appears to have fixed the issue. Haven't tried it with a huge amount of mobs yet, but the stuttering I got last night in the same Trust dungeon is gone.

Just updated my Windows 10 and jumped into Asphodelos: the forth circle (my worst trial for audio stuttering), I used Mythril Tempest outside of combat and the stuttering began immediately.Updated my post above re. new Intel CPU issue: I finished upgrading to the latest (November 2021) Windows 10 version and it appears to have fixed the issue. Ugh I thought for awhile the immersive sound thingy was working for me, then the stuttering came back. I updated to latest version of windows, and still nothing. I hope they fix this soon. I miss having sound.
Regarding the audio problems i found a specific way of reproducing it on my end (not sure if mentioned by someone else before):Greetings,
Thanks again to everyone who submitted detailed information regarding the ongoing sound-related issue. Rest assured, the bug reports that were moved to the Duplicate Bug section have been also passed down and have been helpful in our investigation.
While it has taken some time to narrow down the conditions of the issue, we were able to reproduce it on our end.
We discovered an anomaly in the calculation process within FFXIV's game sound driver where the number of digits is not being adjusted correctly. Due to this, some CPUs with certain characteristics are unable to keep up with the calculation processes and have a high possibility of encountering the issue.
As mentioned previously, we noticed this primarily occurs on older CPU models that are around 10 years old, but have also confirmed cases on some of the latest CPU models.
We are continuing to investigate the matter and are working on a resolution to ensure that CPUs with these characteristics will be able to handle these processes correctly. Our current plans are to conduct pattern tests and release an additional fix in the next patch.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work towards resolving this issue.
I bought a house today and as soon as i changed the standard interior ceiling lamp (Ceiling Light) to the Star Chandelier, the audio stuttering began. Reverting it back to the Ceiling Light the stuttering went away again.
I also noticed going into the Barracks the audio stuttering appears, exiting the barracks made it go away again. This is the same for any inn I've entered.
Walking around in the barracks or inn's seems to reduce the stutter or let it go away completely until standing still again.
