If you can't elaborate to the developers why you think something is bad or stupid, how do you expect them to be able to improve upon it?

No, it's just true. Most of the things that affect other regions get ignored unless they also affect JP.

Too many of these rude/cruel people lack empathy and compassion. The only way they'll learn is if they actually experience it first hand, sadly.

It can also have the opposite effect. I've seen it go both ways, and I've even seen people(who don't last long at all) in offices who talk to customers/employees the same way they get talked to. Sometimes there is no revelations, or change for the better, in some people.

This place makes reddit look like a saint at times, it's kind of depressing that the forums that YoshiP's staff reads regularly has to endure keyboard warriors whom wouldn't say the same things to his staff's face.

It can have the opposite effect yes, or none at all. The learning experience and opportunity to have a revelation exists all the same. Some people for whatever reason just elect to ignore the opportunity. Which frankly would speak volumes about their own character. I used to be quite the hyperactive bully in my younger years. It wasn't until I had this self-same treatment that I actually understood the reality of my own actions, and the feelings they invoke on those around me.

Not that I agree with forcing a role upon someone. But people would have a lot of realisations if they were treated in their day-to-day job as to how they treat others on their day-to-day - and took the extra step to actually reflect.

Given that the comments were on Japanese broadcast, and given in Japanese, I would have to assume they were directed toward the JP community.

Just a note that the dev team actually does have people who read and forward popular topics to them - were this not true I don't think you'd have ever seen male bunny suits or all the recent all gender changes to many glams. As far as I know, no one here on the JPN forums or worlds ever asked for things such as that, and yet it was changed. Yoshi-P is invested in all aspects of the game, not just we JPN people's needs.

And having watched that stream, it was, indeed, aimed at I believe the Japanese audience. However, people need to understand that what a Japanese person considers 'rude' or 'antagonistic' is probably not the same as the US/EU. Since everyone is taught fairly strict social standards, things that would seem just a little harsh may seem totally brutal to a Japanese. Thus, when kids (mostly -- hopefully) speak using really rude wording (kinda along lines of calling people by their first names and omitting honorifics), or speaking like they're talking to middle schoolers, it is seen as in truly bad taste and is kind of sickening b/c those comments are obviously from people who have no social etiquette. These kinds of comments were made on the JPN forums, which was unusual as most people are usually kind and/or at least polite. Thus, the words from the producers to keep in mind that one would never speak in such a way out in public lest they be shamed for it - same should go for the public forums.
