And you might have brushed this off as a bad argument but history has shown that loot boxes and other gacha/microtransaction mechanics those can easily overtake the game experience by compromising the game developers intent in order to make more money via scummy means.


Also can we please stop saying that the NFT contains any actual data like artwork/videos/or game assets? NFTs are just the token and that token lives on the chain. Anything else is stored somewhere else.
I can see the skepticism in the possible use case scenarios for NFT's. However, until we try any guess of what is realistic or not is just a guess, nobody knows. Can it be exploited? Of course it can but once again, company practices have nothing to do with the underlying tech.
