SE said that in 6.1 they’re coming out with in-game character profile pages where you can pick an avatar and do various stuff to “customize” your profile. I would be very unsurprised if one way we see NFTs introduced into this game is in the form of pictures for your profiles. NFTs are “non-fungible” tokens, with “non-fungible” effectively meaning that they’re one of a kind, so you could, for example, be the only person in the game to have a specific picture of Y’shtola or something. These are different from securities that are traded on the national stock markets because those have to be fungible (i.e., one of your common shares has to be exchangeable for another common share without there being any differences between the two), and they are currently unregulated in the US (as the SEC has yet to deem them a security) and thus they’re super, super shady. They’re basically a digital version of beanie babies.
