But you have hard enrages here. You are set on a clock to kill a boss. You need the DPS.Yes, I know it's been around for a long time. The difference is it wasn't talked about openly back then, except to tell others not to talk about it openly. But now we have threads where players are saying they can't apply for a static without providing a parse, and most people seem more interested in trying to normalize that and parse usage. Six years ago most of the responses would have been along the lines of "That's against TOS, report that if it becomes an issue, <3". We just seemed less tolerant of parses being used for more than personal development.
I had to explain to other people that their DPS needed improvement in games like WoW because DPS checks became the norm there, primarily because everyone abused parsers into the ground and so the developers developed content around DPS checks more and more to counter that. I would really prefer that not happen here.
Also.. Yoshi-P has literally stated that external voice chat programs are not prohibited.
Seriously, is playing the game as intended is now "toxic wow elitism" whilst curebotting is the norm?
You won't clear an ultimate with 2 afk healers or a freestyle Sam or an ice blm
I have no problem with people working to improve their personal performance to beat an enrage in top-tier content. But I do see a problem when someone calls out someone else out for poor damage when we're in a dungeon daily that took 25 minutes to clear instead of 20. I have zero clue as to what's going on with each player in real life on the other side of the screen. Maybe they're mostly watching Netflix and actually wasting our time.. or maybe they have a legitimate disability and are trying their best to make it work. But the person in the group beating them over the head with the parse doesn't know (or apparently care about) the difference. And the more we normalize parse usage the more that seems to happen. But you have hard enrages here. You are set on a clock to kill a boss. You need the DPS.

If people just used parses to improve their personal performance everything would be fine. But let's be honest.. the chances of no one using a parse as a weapon to attack someone else is pretty much zero.
This is the issue though. I think a vast majority of people who use parses would agree that berating someone else is wrong. Having said that, it also wouldn't be fair for someone who is not as good to think they should be able to join a group of high performing players, and be upset when they are declined.I have no problem with people working to improve their personal performance to beat an enrage in top-tier content. Did you know that in the past, bosses had enrage timers and there were actually no parsing programs because they simply didnt exist, and yet plenty of people still cleared them anyway? A lot of you don't understand that what you're crying about needing is still relatively new. Yes, YOU need a program to spoon feed you what you're doing wrong. But not everyone does. Especially those who experienced gaming before any of this came to be. Again. Just a few years ago, parsing programs werent even a thing in a lot of games. Raiding in quite a few games you did completely blind just judging based on how combos worked against attack dummies or from you and your team just trying the fights constantly until you got it down.
People didnt just give up. They didnt just "UOOOHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I CANT SEE WHAT IM DOOOOOOOOING NUMBERSWISE??? HOW DO WE BEAT THIIIIIIIIIS" They didnt hunch at their pcs totaling up the damage of every teammate they had. They just made a group and hoped for the best. and yet here we are today...pretty much the embodiment of that tough dog vs the crying dog meme...people acting like they can't even go west of la noscea to gather a pear without knowing what their axe parse will be...it's just pathetic. I'll be honest with you, it's pathetic. It's whiny, it's toddler inspired, it's as little as a little brain can be to insinuate that without parsing people can't even beat bosses. I truly can't believe we're even here in gaming. Lmao. What happened. What happened???? How did this happen
Been playing this game since 2.0. There were parsers back then. There were several in fact. And yes people did get kicked for doing bad damage.Did you know that in the past, bosses had enrage timers and there were actually no parsing programs because they simply didnt exist, and yet plenty of people still cleared them anyway? The funniest part of all of this is watching these same types of people play any video game that isn't an MMO and seeing them get filtered within the first 10 minutes. Turns out they were just using addons as a crutch for being having poor reaction times and lacking basic problem solving skills, and when they can't use them, they can't play. All that tough talk is just cope for needing third party tools to hold their hand in a video game. As someone who has mostly played action games and puzzle-solving games (cranking the difficulty to maximum possible) all my life I have never understood the need for third party tools to basically dumb down the game for me, let alone flexing about it on the internet. FFXIV's fights revolve around having good reaction times, being able to read telegraphed attacks, and having bare minimum problem solving skills to be able to decipher certain mechanics that aren't just obvious telegraphed attacks but require you to pay attention and use your brain, alongside knowing your job and how to perform it correctly.
If you need any sort of addon to raid in this game, I'm sorry, but you are legitimately a bad player. To me, were I forming a static, it's more of a red flag that you use them then if you don't. If you need some third party internet tool to tell you if you're playing badly or not I don't want you anywhere near my raids.

DPS Meters != Cactbot. The funny thing is, those same players who are parsing orange and purple aren't using addons, so this whole post is a completely different topic. The funniest part of all of this is watching these same types of people play any video game that isn't an MMO and seeing them get filtered within the first 10 minutes. A lot of raiders despise Cactbot. It's just a crutch, in my opinion. But I have similar views of callouts. I prefer to be able to do the content without having to rely on someone else to complete it.

checked ur page xd that was a mistake. this post makes sense now. lolThe funniest part of all of this is watching these same types of people play any video game that isn't an MMO and seeing them get filtered within the first 10 minutes.
