The problem is that your so called "flaws" are highly subjective. Some might like the squares and circles. Some might like stuff like coil more with tons of useless trashmobs and long walks to the boss.
And bringing WoW into the picture is a really fair point tbh, they have trashmobs, long walks to the bosses and all that which people scream for so why not giving WoW a shot? Better than crying about a design choice with which most people are ok with. In other words if you think Burger King tastes better than McDonalds then you don't have to sit at McDonalds and cry about them not having certain food...maybe just go over to BK and get your...idk...burger i guess, not really that much into fastfood.
I think the real complexes here are your egocentric worldviews and how you think that your "feedback" is the one supreme feedback that will improve the game tenfold. Fact is, there are people which like the squares and circles. Are their needs for that design now inferior to yours cause only you know how to make a good game, huh? Yeah, no. Go play WoW when you want these design choices when it comes to raids, these both design choices can coexist. You don't have to change everything into the same design.
tl:dr: Go eat Burgerking if you don't like McDonalds.
Ohh.. OHHH
you're the "we need an afterlife expansion .. LIKE WOW" AND the "the game should have content to keep people playing like addicts.. LIKE WOW!" guy.
Man. I was all trying to engage someone on learning what the "no square or circle" people wanted and I fell for the troll.
You haven't even done the Alliance Raids that are still moderately challenging yet. And you start in with "those are very casual"?
Like.. just.. WHY?
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
But... why?
Turn 5 is why they're afraid of making more complex arenas. They don't want players being able to cheese mechanics due to the arena's design. It can also lead to a bunch of bugs.
Most ppl here responded politely tho. And what you can a flaw (1 arena, 1 boss) is actually a quality for most players. Ppl here prefer to get into the most interesting stuff faster that's all.
And for the "no squares and circles", how does make a heart change anything in the mecanics. If it's not used then there's no point imo.

In my mind, if there's one thing the 24-man raids do better than the 8-man raids it is precisely in eliciting the feeling that you are traversing and exploring through an area. Granted, the linearity of it makes it seem more like a guided tour at times, but I've always liked this sort of "sense of place" that was found in the 24-mans and some of the turns in Coils.
That said, the fact that 8-man raids are... functionally trials that are released in sets of 4... ain't going away. It was decided a few expansions back that the majority (I assume) do not care for the road to the boss... So that ain't changing. Could something more interesting and dare I say engaging be done with the path or paths you take to a boss? Absolutely, but they (the devs) likely figured it was more convenient to just go straight to the boss.

Which, might actually be the trick of it. Alliance raids have room to be creative with three full parties to spread things out. One party, and they all need to be on the boss, how weird can you make it?
All these squares make a circle
Why is it always WoW? Ya know, there are other mmos out there. People already play this game like addicts. Point?Ohh.. OHHH
