Please remake 1.0 in New Game+

As a player of 1.0 I am unsure. My happiest memories are of 1.0 with the friends I made, hanging around waiting for Dodore to pop. There was obviously bad because of lag, fatigue system and more.

You can not beat getting on the ferry though or the opening CS and the awesome direction it was going. My first ever day of closed Alpha my character bounced off every wall trying to climb the stairs in Limsa to go the adventurers guild because my PC could not handle it. But I got a new PC and then started my journey with FF14. For its bad the amazing atmosphere and Ishgard seemed like a far off world. But here we are today.

Maybe they can redo something it was amazing in parts. I do not think I could ever imagine feeling so immersed when they ended 1.0 it was amazing.

They would have to completely rework it including said cutscenes it was created on crystal tools engine as opposed to the luminous engine and still the coding itself is giving issues to the game as it is again NO. Yoshi P said Nightmare for a reason and it is!

He called a 1.0 Classic Server a nightmare when he was asked about creating one in an interview.

What OP is asking for isn't even remotely the same thing, whatsoever.

I don't think NG+ would work either, but it is very feasible that it could be put in the Unending Story or whatever it's called where cutscenes could be remade specifically, and the story between them written out like it does for literally the entirety of 2.0 on, plus side content.

That would just take resources to be devoted to it.


The one thing Yoshi-P did say about the 1.0 story is that there's a lot of disconnect and it doesn't make much sense to start with.

For me I'd just like to see a different team at Square remake and rework 1.0s story as a standalone game. Short of making an entire expansion dedicated to it I can't see it working in an MMO format again. Something sort of like a Crisis Core but for XIV. Though they'd probably have to expand certain parts of the story out for that to work.

Not even New Game + - add it as an optional bonus section in The Unending Journey. Tie it into a current game quest where F'haminn gives you Minfilia's old diary that Urianger found in the Waking Sands storage.

That way it could be done as a series of cutscenes without any of the old engine's game mechanics.

Many are saying go watch em on youtube, but that post says don't upload them anywhere. So I guess those who are encouraging people to watch them on Youtube and those watching them are supporting something that is expressly forbidden. Though it says they reworked quests in 2.0 it doesn't say the story is in 2.0. It is alluded to, but not presented, outside of a couple scenes. So there is no officially sanctioned way to experience that part of the story.

Considering the game was redone for 2.0 I assume there might be techical nuances that might make this implementation either complicated or nigh impossible. But to be honest, if it's possible, then I'm more than up for redoing 1.0 story in NG+. As short as it was, it still was nice.
