I think the problem is that people like this appear in every single forum thread, twitter thread, facebook thread, in-game chat and pretty much anywhere else this game is discussed.

It becomes hard to ignore.

Just putting this out there: You'll find people like that in *any* game. You'll also find them in any discussion about literally anything. That doesn't make it fair to put the assumption that the entire community based around the topic is awful. Some people just have big mouths, no filter and enjoy hearing themselves talk.

Wow has both I guess that didn’t work when you couldn’t do even dungeon properly without gearing 2 months for it. Wow game play is broken , people are fleeing so we want to bring same broken mechanic here? ,again wow dungeons are over there feel free to enjoy them. First of all, wow is not broken. It is still by far the most mechanically complete MMO out there...

The problem is not WOW, it's Blizzard.... and their content output ...

NO matter how good an MMO can be if you are not updating it, people will get tired out of it and quit.

Wow's problem is lack of Blizzard's dev output. Basically the game has had only 1 big update in a year, and 8 months after release. Couple that with mechanics that do not reward playability and burnout, the only way to remain subbed is if somehow Blizzard kept updating the game with much bigger updates, say every 4 months...

I play games for story not gear grind or chAllenge we have challenges here called ultimate , played wow because I liked Warcraft 3 stories and I enjoyed it up WOTC and what broke it for me was I had to do join guild do 24 man raid or whatever number it was to see the Arthur./Arthas in flesh couldn’t see any him anyway because every Guild has its meta back then and if I remember correctly my boomkin wasn’t the META and I just plain refused to change class just to follow the story,Then I come here and follow the story at my own pace I don’t need to join no guild , don’t waste my time in GEAR Challenge my class doesn’t matter, I play what I think is fun, I have affinity to PLD and WHM as I like to help people ,Here I can do normal trials and follow the story.

I do extreme on weekends and many time we don’t clear it is about the journey for me.

I consider wow an unrecoverable shit because they messed the story so much after WOTC , it doesn’t make sense anymore the story is unrecoverable mess. You want to know my train of though here is the video Pyro realized it 6-7 years after I saw it coming

I heard Yoshida had to decline any improvements to XIV's anti-aliasing because decent AA might remind them of WoW, which has bad reward loops and obligatory content, thus making their AA bad, too.
Endwalker's would-be Deep Dungeon also had to be scrapped because it used unique skill upgrades based on borrowed powers acquired as one progresses deeper into said dungeon, which reminded them of WoW, which has bad reward loops and obligatory content, thus also making any side-content concepts from WoW bad.

Exactly thats just crazy.

I like FF14, and i am a wow refugee, i do not want it become WOW, but either game has stuff that the other implements better that could use it.

For example.

Wow could use FF14 progressive storytelling, replayability of older content, fliying mounts abilitation the way ff14 do it, stuff like golden saucer, housing, etc.

FF14 can use some aspects of WOW, like some of its pvp system, Mythic +, some aspects of raiding, the transmog system, etc.

Tbh storywise the best thing that can happen to wow is Sylvannas diying.

But thats besides the point we arent here comparing story. I could say the same about EW, ok the story was nice, but now that its done, where do you go from now ?

Besides, story can take you only to a certain point.. Its not like they can produce more story that we can consume...

Endgame content needs replayability and gear wheel needs to matter.

In 14, we get gear, gear that basically is useless outside..

Hell, you cant even "duel" to show your good progress with your friends...

You... realize that if not for WoW releasing the equivalent of 10-12 Ultimates per raid tier and thus initial tier clears taking longer, there'd be no less gear-grind in XIV if one wants BiS -- more, even, in any given relic tier due to the side-content grinds required?

XIV gear just has fewer places to be of use because there are fewer forms of content; it's as simple as that.
