You could fly there too though? You aren't slower in the air. Unlocking flight is unrelated to ranking up your Shared FATE for the area.
Also you can join a party, people host Shared FATE farm parties in party finder all the time. It's a bit easier when you're with a group.

True, but unlocking flight in an area is tied to aether currents, and the final aether current in a zone is usually gated by MSQ. The first zone you can unlock flight in is the third, because the first and second zones are split in half and you come back to them later. And even in the third zone you can't unlock flight there until you've been through the second dungeon of the expansion (at level 83), since if I recall correctly it's the MSQ mission taking you into that dungeon which gives you your final aether current for that zone.

If OP is only level 82, they really can't have unlocked flight anywhere yet in this expansion.

It appears I've been doing too much fate grinding myself as I had overlooked this detail.
Would still suggest doing it in a group setting though!

You can't unlock flight for two of the zones until much later in the story.
