Casual players locked out of FFXIV for indefinite time!

Square Enix saw the influx of people this year and should have anticipated this. They are at fault. I wish they would have delayed the game to get more server than not being able to play at all.

Great idea, delay the expansion months maybe a year until they get new servers and let the game stagnate and die in the meantime. They cannot acquire the servers they need and letting a MMO stagnate for that long will be the death of it. It is a hard decision but they are doing what they can.

What i can't stand is the selfishness of people. "I can play so stfu idiot, game is fine". I have physically changed my sleep schedule to accommodate for 2 hrs of playtime before work and more on weekends if I don't have to do overtime or other responsibilities. That is already insane for a videogame and I also don't have dependants so I am lucky in that regard? This situation is gross and should have been fixed before shb as I've mentioned several times there were queues back then and prefered servers. Even the pre order sales numbers for shb was a damn good indicator the game was gaining a lot of steam. Cov and chips are no excuse for this shit. And before passing on people understand they paid the same as you did and many have subs going into the trash which is even more money, per day, being thrown in the trash in an overly inflated world.

Alternatively, why don't you complain in any one of those 20 threads then? Is it so hard not to click on thread and not to reply if you don't want to? I assure you, it's much much much easier to do that compared to waiting for EW's queue for many people.

People do not have access to the thing they're paying for. Let them air their grievances, it's their right.

They can air it in a single thread. I do admit it's kind of annoying checking the forums to see 10+ threads about the same thing. We all know, the devs know, they're working on it, use a single thread to air grievances, PLEASE.

The increase in population has actually been very gradual until earlier this year which was completely unanticipated by their projection for when they were going to upgrade hardware. We were warned multiple times this was going to happen.

I will be a black knight. Work and family is a overused excuse manage your time better or dont play video games. Plenty of players who work full time and have families manage to play.

There are alternatives to changing yoru sleep schedule. Various remote programs that you can even run from a smart phone can allow you to remote control your computer to log in earlier and monitor the queue, before you get home to help reduce the time spent in queue at home.

I'm really very sorry but saying "remote desktop to your PC at home while you're at work, log yourself in AND hope it doesn't boot you" is... ridiculous.

That said, I don't blame square at all. Population explosion combined with new expansion and chip shortage. I get it. But what you're describing is absolutely not sensible solution in the slightest and we really shouldn't be telling people that they need to potentially break rules at work just to log into a video game.

I play casually, don't tend to do ex raid content and I only really come around patch time and xpac time. I was able to finish endwalker during the early access without much issues.

Que's suck, 2002's suck but I haven't had one since the patch.

It hasn't ruined the game, it's just made it incredibly inconvenient

I logged in early, and if I knew I didn't have at least 4 hrs to blow, I didn't bother trying to Que after 2pm est.

Not the same here..Got home and sat in Q for hour 47mins...played for less then a hour and the game crashed..2 hour Q ahain then got just over a hour play time and them game crashed again sending me to my 3rd Q of the night 3,500 people for 2 and hour hours

I currently remote in to log in before leaving work. I've done this for numerous MMO game launches dating all the way back to early WoW. I've not see anything in the ToS that remoting to login would violate.
