    I think its going to take a few more or "all" of the classes to be in before the full potential in the freedom of playing as a Class instead of a Job is realized. This and the lack of context is part of the problem. We dont have very many scenarios to play through yet. Until then i am expecting Jobs to be better than classes in an unbalanced kinda way.

    As a side note, we may see more upsides to classes after "Battle Regimen" is back. Could be that cross classing this or that allows for more flexibility in this system too.

    Adding 5 Abilities... that Classes can NEVER cross use them... that's what makes Jobs unique... that's what makes them better than Classes... Maybe DRG has some hidden effects for having said job.. but have 5 more of something that something else can't use, automatically makes the job better than the class version.

    Because classes don't have exclusive abilties/traits already or anything... jobs having exclusive abilities/traits will make them unique? :P

    From what I gathered, Jobs can cross class stuff.. but it doesn't go the other way around :P. What do I know.. Im just excited to have jobs :P

    I don't think the job system will fully come into its own until they add a 2nd job for each class.

    This won't happen until the first expansion though most likely.

    If they don't go down that path then they may as well just remove classes completely and just have jobs because they don't seem that much difference anymore.

    I would be happy with either scenario

    We have to play it to see. If you played FFXI enough you'll realize just hearing about something you can't really differentiate till you utilize it, for example you hear:

    "A job that can work as a frontline healer, tank and DD." (Dancer) How would that be different from RDM, which has adequate skill in Sword and Dagger and can heal on the front lines just as well? How would that make DNC diff from PLD/NIN/WAR/MNK? (The tank jobs) Playing it you realize it's not a blood tank, nor evasion tank but it's more of a endurance tank.

    Same with SCH, it has access to all tiers of Nukes (excluding ancient, aga and aja) and all curative spells excluding a certain few, how do you differentiate it from BLM, WHM, PUP or RDM? It has a certain something to set it apart (Stratagems and Arts.) So while Jobs in XIV may not seem different from Classes in text, in execution there may be a lot of reasons Jobs are different from classes, even ignoring the obvious cross-class lockouts.

    So one the off chance, now hear me out. What happens if SE says that we can only cross class abilties from the two class that are required from the list.

    So I can only use 3 useless moves from pugilist. Not sentinel, invigorate to back-up second wind to make it useful, or chameleon.

    What good would jobs be if they could only cross class abilities from two classes?

    I just want to confirm something here. Are you saying that BLM for example will NOT have the capability to have Stone Skin? Because it's attached to THM and PUG?


    If that is the case.. then SE has ultimately killed FFXIV, at least in my mind and is no longer worthy of playing and wasting money.

    I think you guys are overthinking this a little.. Jobs are ment to " Specialize" in a certain role If all they have id DRG stuff, so what? MRD stuff, so what? Thats what jobs do, they are ment to "cross-class" with anything >.>.
