And you still refuse to get that it doesn't matter if it was 'to be expected a mile away' when even before the influx of the last 6 months it was already impossible to get what they needed. And just like so many others, you mistake 'excuses' with 'an actual valid reason'. You honestly think a shortage that has the entire industrial world from car manufacturing to computers ground to a stand still is a 'baseless excuse'?

The only reason they didn't respond to the influx as we all feel they should.. is because they couldn't, this has been made very clear already.

If you develop a Game/Expansion/Technological device and so on, and notice that it just isn't ready yet and will cause problems for a huge portion of people... would you just publish it nonetheless? Blame it on this pandemic/market/whatever?

Seriously, I can't understand why people are so adamant about defending gigantic corporations for no reason.
OF COURSE this situation causes problems, but is DOESN'T excuse an abhorrent situation for the majority of players.
In these last two hours in which I was in queue, I moved from 3.5k to 2.1k and had 3 error message during that time, all with a 100% stable LAN-connection.

How, just HOW can someone sh*t in your soup and you happily eat it saying that it's fine cause of the current situation???

What do you suggest? A MMO just stagnate for years until it takes for the supply chain to catch up? Past MMOs have shown what this results in.

That's the thing though. Servers and components are limited currently, but they aren't unavailable.
The company I work for isn't even 1% the size of Square Enix, and we just bought a shitton of servers to upgrade.
If a huge corporation like Nintendo, Sony and yes, also Square, want Servers, they can get them. They might be a bit more expensive than the norm, but don't tell me FF14 has money problems with the current congestion.

remember when they added the cash stop, remember when everyone ws like wtf why no why wut? dont you dare and the devs were like but you wanted player housing right? this cash shop will allow us to fund player housing servers... still aint got a house yoshi still aint got a house...

edit: actually they could have even done a new world housing system instance where everyone can buy the same house and you see yours where you but it and the top most decorated house shows on each plot....
