Apples:Oranges. There's a massive difference between selling tangible goods vs intangible services. You also didn't pay to "play the game". You paid to have your account active for login. This may sound like semantics, but it's important. See, If you have a valid subscription, then your account is active. SE has provided what you have paid for. Now, as the service provider, they offer an SLA. That SLA provisions for certain circumstances, such as server instability issues preventing from successful login or play. As part of that SLA, they have policies to refund time paid for where the game was inaccessible or fundamentally unplayable for these various circumstances. This is exactly what they have done. They have given you what you paid for. They have refunded part of that as a means of saying "sorry the servers are having trouble." If you're dissatisfied with the service they have provided or their reimbursement of time unable to access the servers, then you're free to cancel your subscription and move on with your life.
