Grubhub was choosen because they are the sponsor of the Game Awards and it was a Game Awards promo. SE did not seek them out to do this promo.I only have one place that can deliver through GrubHub and it's a grocery store where I live. Tried to confirm with customer service if that would still qualify if I order 15$ of food or if it had to be a delivery from a restaurant and was met with a response of sure... Very poor customer service in my experience. This promo is not very well thought out, in my opinion. Not only did they choose a delivery company that people may or may not have access to, but they also region-locked it to NA but excluded NA residents. NA doesn't equal just US. The wording is vague on promo. No way to clarify. They didn't even pick one of the biggest food delivery services in the market as far as market share. It would be like the amazon promos but they were eBay. W/E I am done with it. Disappointed but nothing new when it comes to out-of-game products to get in-game items.
SE did not choose or approach Grubhub to do this. It is a game awards promo and Grubhub is the sponsor of the game awards.
It doesn't matter if SE didn't approach Grubhub or vice-versa. SE said sure they gave permission. It's on them. You act like they couldn't have said no. They could have done a bunch of different things for this promo. Either way, I am not sure why that even matters it's a terrible promo.

I don't think it took my code at all. I entered it multiple times.
I had to do this. Good thing I had another email already.I believe I was unable to use the code because I was subscribed to Grubhub+.
Grubhub+ gives free delivery, and the promo code's effect during the game awards is free delivery, so I assume that's why they don't stack.
I had to make a separate Grubhub account to be able to apply the code.
Also you didn't ask this but I had a Big Mac and a 20 Piece Chicken Nuggets No Fry No Drink
The menacing aura of every Lalafell.
It says promo code was applied but I'm probably betting that I'm not getting anything...
Entering the code it said the code was expired, then hitting order it would say code was applied. However then the restaurant was suddenly not taking delivery orders. All restaurants I checked were not taking orders, while the same ones were open on Doordash.

Oh boo, I hope it wasn't a cap of 20K orders total. I don't eat take out on Thursdays so I was going to order it tomorrow. I didn't mind not getting free delivery - the place I wanted to get it from is only two miles away so the delivery fee would be like... two bucks and a tip. (They don't have outdoor seating, though, so I haven't felt safe eating there in the last year and a half.)
I know Japan loves its limited time promos, but surely they would have known that hundreds of thousands of people would like an emote?
I can verify, I was told the same thing. I tried to explain their error in the chat Feedback (politely!) but Not sure what will happen since the promotion is being ran completely wrong. Knowing Yoshi P he won't stand for this and probably just give it to everyone in the game. XD Jokes aside, I hope it gets fixed quick or a lot of people are going to be upset.![]()

Interesting... according to the main site, it specifically says that the "20,000" cap is just free deliveries, not that it's codes:
https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...f22a3b04ce87d8
"* Free delivery is limited to the first 20,000 orders."
Plus the event is open until the 15th, next week. Having a hard-cap of just 20,000 seems... really small, lol. Hopefully it's just GrubHub being confused.
