The GrubHub promo problems

I ordered off grubhub a few hours ago. Had no issues entering the promo code and got free delivery.
Maybe instead of the app, just go to the website directly. Make sure the order is $15 or more before tax, tip, and delivery fee. If this isn't working and you suspect it might be because you have grubhub+, you could try a new account. Other than that, idk. I hope you guys can resolve this issue.

I had a brand new account, made specifically for this promotion last night.
I will try again tomorrow and see how it goes. But I feel like I'm getting conned lmao

People are saying there was 20,000 codes, and the early access queue had multitude more people than that trying to log on in the first minute soon as the 6.0 patch dropped.

There's talk that the codes are gone, which that in itself is sort of messed up. Moreso since the promo has a run-time of a week.
That and the fact that the promo didn't start until 4:30pm PST and a lot of people in America don't use PST, making the window and chances to obtain a code even smaller for people on the opposite side of the country.

All the places I check on my app in this area are closed fairly early due to COVID-19 restrictions and labor shortages.
When I checked at 9pm EST,(I personally think is a reasonable time to order dinner. Would have been 6pm PST), there were no places available to order from that were open.
It's fairly disheartening to hear that such an emote that people have been searching for quit a bit for was locked behind a two-hour time frame and is no longer available on Day 1 of a promo that was supposed to last a week.

I think it's just the first 20,000 get free delivery. I could be wrong, but perhaps everyone can still get the emote if they use the promo, they just have to pay the delivery fee.

Just ordered an absolute butt-ton of sushi and the code was accepted. I'll get back to y'all if I get an emote code.

EDIT: also saving the receipt in case we have to "prove" we purchased during the period later, like the butterfinger promo.

I managed to get free delivery, so HOPEFULLY I get the pizza emote. No other indication that it worked.
