Clearly, this thread shows it's just a very small few looking for something are out crying.
But they all want to start their own thread because that is the only way they think they will be heard if every thread is blah blah blah SE .....

Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
I hope you'll be able to actually play when you do eventually get EW again. Props for doing the logical thing and refunding, unlike what some are doing.I just refunded the game through Steam myself today.
I have been able to play about 2 hours in the last 5 days, due to queue times, which if they are being honest due to the chip shortage, won't be alleviated any time soon, it at all.
There is no rage from me, but for me personally, the 2002 error was the last straw. I don't mind a 10k queue, gives me an idea of how long it will take, and I go and do something else in the meantime, like watch TV in the living room. But coming back after 4 hours of waiting to discover I have been booted because of some arbitrary system in place to prevent over-logging is beyond ridiculous. Just prevent new people from logging in, don't boot everyone (and don't say you can log back in, I am not sitting on front of my PC for 4 hours to play a game just in case the queue gets stopped).
So, I just refunded, and might come back in a few months when it is discounted and actually playable.
I personally do not blame the Developers at all, they have delivered a quality product time and time again, and FF14 is incredible. I *do* however, blame Square Enix the publisher for heavily pushing a game they must have known was going to be beyond popular, knowing full well their server capacity couldn't handle it, and with no way to get new servers as back ups or online due to shortages.
Basically, smacks to me like they just wanted a large quarterly boost to profits, and damn the consequences, as there will always be apologists.
-snipped for post length-
That's all I have done, I suggest people ranting do the same, because that is literally the only thing the publisher is concerned with, as anything else is just smoke they don't care about.
If you are fine with the queues, then that is also your consumer right, and more power to you, because for me, it is just unacceptable (PS, played since launch of ARR so not a new player).
Without a doubt people can be angry and disappointed, but a lot of what's going on here on the forums is just some grade a bullshit huffing and puffing, as well as know it alls thinking that they alone have had the brilliant epiphany of a 'solution' that they somehow think Yoshi P and team must not have considered or known about yet.
What type of compensation would quiet your rage?
Many people are having issues without making a lot of noise about it.
They do as I do watch Netflix or do other things while waiting for the queue to drop.
So honestly everyone raging, what would you like to see done?
It's not going back into the bottle.
There is no magic bullet to fix this at this point.
So what are you looking for to be ok with the current state?

I pretty much received what I wanted. We got a detailed explanation from Yoshi-P as to the causes of the problems and an explenation as to the steps that were to be taken to correct most of the problem. So far the fixes appear to be working. I can live with the long log-in times as long as I don't get arbitrarily dropped. Have plenty of movies and TV shows to binge while I wait. Anything else (7 days free time) is pure gravy.

Nothing. I don't want compensation. I want to be able to play the game.

Nothing. First week of any new expansion for every MMO I have played my entire life is always Hell.
This game is no different and yet i've still been able to log in, unlock Sage and level it up to 80 through several roulette duties without so much as a single issue with lag or otherwise.
And yet Square Enix still compensated me with a free week of sub. So far it's the smoothest expansion launch ive ever seen personally.
The menacing aura of every Lalafell.

Can't login to the game in under 3 hours of wait
Can't afk for 30 minutes to get food without getting booted and having to wait 4 more hours to get back on
Can't buy limited edition statues with cool emotes because they instantly sell out and are scalped for 5x the price
Can't fish in the same spot for too long "because of bots"
Said fish can't have any useful value because bots would exploit that too
Can't go to any starter city without getting spammed with RMT shouts and phishing whispers
Can't have a stable way to farm gil that isn't patch nerfed soon after becoming popular
Can't farm tomestones for more than a few hours before reaching weekly cap that makes it neigh impossible to usefully kit out more than one job in a game with nearly 20 jobs
Can't buy a house because none are ever availible and even when they are they sell out instantly while you can't log into the server. The fix is "well you can if you win the lottery" LMFAO
Can't have nicer mounts and glamors without spending additional money on the mogstation.
This game thankfully has a lot of fun elements, but honestly there isn't anything they could do to compensate for all it's failings. We've all known for years they aren't going to adequately fix this stuff, but we still sub and play so there you go.
Compensation? All I want is the "hardcore" WoW immigrants to go back to Azeroth where they belong and take their streamers with them so the rest of us who actually do enjoy the game can get in and play it.

Refund the game
