How were things during ARR or SB? Was there queues in the multiple 1000s? How long did it take to become reasonable queues (hundreds or so)?

During Shadowbringers I remember I experienced queue like 1800 or so during the first day. I don't recall any 2002 errors. Two or three later after the release there were queues like 200 or so until it was gone. From what I have seen, it may be related with the number of people trying to get in, not those already inside the game, since when inside there is not a single issue, at least for me.
Indeed its lkely related to the wow exodus, which in itself is a good thing, we are able to get more people; but I cannot comment that SE should have at least tried to mitigate this issue beforehand.

Rage? If you're raging on the internet, you have the emotional maturity of a middle schooler. SE has already explained the situation.
About all you can get is time. But a compensation, but not really that would make me happy is. An honest World Population Cap + Planned growth that equals new hardware. The "it's shortage" fault side doesn't seem to look at the equation of when the other side thinks servers should have been ordered. And I am sorry anyone who thinks OCE would make a big diff to NA/EU population seems kind of delusional. So if I knew Crystal was at 100k players and SE growth is 10%, but hardware purchase needs Crystal to hit 150k. I know not to get mad at SE and if I am not enjoying the stability of the world I can leave.
Better forum moderation would also be nice. Not talking about removing posts people don't like. We all have biases if someone is trolling or not. But just Sticky EW appreciation thread and Login issues. Some one starts a new thread move it into the appropriate sticky.

Also you have to consider the statistics provided to SE by the pre-purchases. SE knew the number of copies sold during that time, and applying some basic statistics based on previous early access number of players that choose to play during this time, it was possible anticipate this kind of scenario. In my opinion, I believe FF14 dev team did this, but someone high on the company, outside the dev team mind you, decided not do anything, expecting the issue to disappear as time goes on. Believe me when I say this; if the cost needed to fix a problem is greater than the cost of damage after the problem occurs, companies always chooses the later.

A simple refund would suffice. I play pretty casually for the MSQ and a bit of leveling + to try out raids before going back to grinding ranked mode in FPS (Apex, Overwatch, etc.). Starting to think I might not be able to budget in any more time for the game by the time the queues are even halfway doable.
I'm not outraged, but a code for one free month of subscription to be applied at our leisure (like when it's actually possible to get into the game) would be great. I'm expecting to to be January before I'm finally able to log in. That's okay but it feels like a waste to be paying a subscription fee for a game I can't presently get into on my characters.
1. I'd like to be able to play the game during prime time PST hours without queues exceeding 25 players
2. Additional Free Game Time to make up for all the times queued 3000-8000+ players
3. I'll be agreeable, Redeemable Vouchers for Poetics like 7 Days * 600 Poetics = 4200 Poetics at least to make up for all the days I couldn't log in during prime time pst hours because every evening I run on this Tank Toon (DRK/GNB/WAR/PLD on this toon) for Duty Roulette Poetics to get relic weapon mats. Time is Poetics, lost time is lost poetics.
4. And some stacks ilvl 510+ Food and some of the newer higher bonus EW good stuff that gives 10% Crit, 10% Vit, 10% Skill Speed or Determination at least so I can AYCE out on my avatar. Don't go cheap on this plz.
5. These disconnect errors while waiting suck too so throw in some extra XP bonuses as well.
But what I really want is mostly #1, if not, there's the rest of the list.

I'm still surprised we got dozens of threads all saying the same thing, sometimes five from the same blasted user who for some reason keeps making threads to say the exact same thing again and again... and nothing is done, nothing is merged even though it's obvious it should all go in one thread, be it complaining or praise.
It will never happen, but compensation in the form of something that would actually be useful, like an additional retainer that you don't have to pay a monthly for.
