As a vet from ARR and Sb but SB was far worse we could not even continue the story because of the issues.I'm an ARR Vet so this doesn't surprise me, I lived through ARR and SB horrible launches and it appears EW will go down in the books with those 2 expansion launch experiences, so I expected this, that's why I don't take off work for expansion launches.
But new players and people who just joined during the years of SHB have every right to be upset and SE did drop the ball on this one and I don't blame those players if they quit this game, however I'd tell em to stick around cause this is a great legendary video game.
Me personally I don't care if SE gives me anything in return for a horrible launch, I just wanna play my game I been looking forward to and pre ordered, so all I want is this issue fixed ASAP so I can play my game.

For me, just extended subscription time until things abate would work. I've gone from playing 4-5hrs daily to 2-3hrs and I still don't really know what this weekend is gonna be like.
That or Fantasia.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
Yeah but for how long? Been 5 day and i't nowhere near to be resolve this time? I asked for a sub extension and I got it and I am assuming they will annonce another 7 days soon cause it's not much better.
Anger is a valid emotion in life. Allow people to be angry so they can move forward.
I would like my time back I spent reading these threads :P It's launch time... get over it maybe?

Anyone with true rage over a game, over not having early access ... even over setting fire to $40 or $60 or even $100 (if that's the way the 'enraged' want to look at it) should be ashamed of themselves.
Frustrated, I get. Disappointed, I get. But even if a crisp new $100 bill flew out of my wallet and into a dumpster fire ... it wouldn't enrage me. Would I be pissed? Sure, momentarily. But I'm not going to go medieval on people because of a small loss. If anything, I'd consider it a learning experience to either keep tighter hold of my wallet, or to keep further away from dumpster fires.
Most of these folks losing their ever-loving minds over a video game and a week of 'early access' are sorely lacking in the life experience department and have their priorities entirely out of whack. It makes me wonder how they react when actual bad things happen to them. I mean - get this - things actually worse than losing a bit of money, a bit of time, or being unable to play a game.
What do you enraged cave-people do when you get in a car crash, get passed over for a promotion or outright fired, get a bad health diagnosis like cancer, lose someone close to you?
Never mind, I already know, I guess. I see the news, I see the folks driving through crowds and blowing away their classmates.
This is a massive parenting failure on a disgusting scale. Like, it is truly disgusting that parents no longer instill patience, logic, and values into their children. They pop out the kid, sit them down with a tablet, and let TikTok and Instagram raise their child. Hence - the 'enraged' that have lost a few bucks or a pittance of time.
Kid gets a cookie taken away from them at two years old, and instead of the mature parent explaining to the kid that you will, indeed, sometimes lose a cookie, the kid goes to Twitter and Snapchat and finds the other three-hundred kids that have lost cookies, and all of them band together in the echo-chamber of "LOSING COOKIES SUCKS, WE WON'T STAND FOR IT, WE WANT COMPENSATION AND OUR DADS SHOULD BE FIRED."
Great job, humans, you should be really proud of your parents for raising you right. Parents, beam with pride that your kids that are losing their mind over this. Excellent job; you all have reached the pinnacle of #pettiness and #repulsivebehavior. #Yay!

I wasnt outraged, because unlike several other people i knew why things went the way they did, and me raging about it wouldnt make things magically fixed.
Tho hate me for this, but i feel like people reacting the way they did is because they felt they should be outraged instead of actually being outraged.
Also i pre-ordered because i like FFXIV not because of early access[which you dont pay for, its a mere bonus].
Andd i have exams until next week so i guess during the queues i had something to study on the side.
PS: Did that guy really say FFXIV is horrible but also the best mmo? contradiction much
I don't mind people being frustrated, it is a valid emotion. It is annoying that this is happening, it affects most of us to some to degree, some worse than others.
But at least direct those frustrations and anger appropriately.
Is directing it at the devs reasonable? Who can only do so much about an issue where the resolution is out of their hands appropriate, which they have been transparent about? No. We know they read the forums for feedback.
Is it reasonable to refuse to accept their reasoning for the problems thinking they should do better? No, because that's just denying reality.
Is going out demanding compensation, refunds etc. an appropriate response? Personally no because it's a temporary inconvenience, but if you want a refund then just go through the proper channels if you are entitled to one, it's your prerogative. If you are not, then you'll no doubt have agreed to terms that prevent you from doing that. Tough luck, read the terms of agreement beforehand, nobody does, but sometimes that's the consequence for no doing so.
Is calling people white knights for defending the devs appropriate? No. Especially given we can give tangible reasons for doing so. Rather than falling back on fanboying a precious dev team and fighting their corner, if it was that, then yeah I'd understand the use of the term 'white knight'.
Yes, I admit I have referred to some as Karens, but only those who have acted in the manner tied to the label.
Many are frustrated, annoyed and angry, but not all of them are being unreasonable about it. For those who are being reasonable, I can empathise. For those who aren't, I will not.
Strangely I have no rage. Some frustration yes but not rage. What type of compensation would quiet your rage?
Many people are having issues without making a lot of noise about it.
They do as I do watch Netflix or do other things while waiting for the queue to drop.
So honestly everyone raging, what would you like to see done?
It's not going back into the bottle.
There is no magic bullet to fix this at this point.
So what are you looking for to be ok with the current state?
Honestly the only thing I want is an end to the 2002 when choosing a datacenter. I can cope with long queues once I do get in. I have a character on a JP server and could have been playing but because of the 2002 when choosing a DC I couldn't get to it. Frustrating.
Hopefully the maintenance fixed that. I will know this evening.
