No one said they should be ship to Rag, I stated they should be put into a holding server and when they activate there account they can choose the new world of their choice depended on availability.Well if that is the case (which it might just be coincidence) then whatever but that is a seperate issue from what people like Coombah and the OP are advocating.
They want to ship anyone who does not have an active account to Ragnorak. But doing that woudl solve nothing since:
"Inactive characters/non-subscribers are also counted, but they are not factored into the maximum limit of active characters allocated to each server."
Yes we are arguing semantics. They misunderstand what the issue is, and as a result of that are advocating a dangerously stupid and unnecessary/ineffectual solution to the problem.
lol what's the difference. They aren't affecting the cap (as stated by SE). So why don't you just leave them alone.
If its not affecting the cap... then where exactly do the Inactive players end up at? Just curious... Inactive players player a role in Servers... Its either one or the other.. :/

Inactives players are just transferred on the new server of their original world but they'll keep sleeping somewhere without any influence on actives players...If inactive player become active, it will play on the server like every active player.

If that is indeed the case, then how is this effecting people to be able to go to the world of there choice then? I'm trying to have a better understand. If the Inactive players are just sleeping there and don't play a vital role in the server cap itself, then if the Server cap is still 5k a Server.. how come there's trouble getting into worlds?

You assume that actives players cap is 5k? actually, there are no enough actives players on FFXIV to fill 9 whole servers with 5k actives players each...the cap is probably between 1200 and 2000 actives players. If that is indeed the case, then how is this effecting people to be able to go to the world of there choice then? It's a merge, not a migration service, at most they should have planned to give an 1 or 2 % free slots for permitting some players to move on ...
The servers are not show in live,so you sometime can enter on a world which is marked full , try sometime ^^

Meh, It doesn't really matter to me.. its just a Name of a server anyways :P.. I'm not picky about a Particular name to be on.. and besides I have alot of friends on my current server that I don't want to leave for some silly Server name :P.You assume that actives players cap is 5k? actually, there are no enough actives players on FFXIV to fill 9 whole servers with 5k actives players each...the cap is probably between 1200 and 2000 actives players.

In anyrate, I have a better understanding of the situation now. Thanks

LOL Do you belive everything your told? SE also stated the game would be ready in Sept of 2010 to right? I think they do in fact affect the gap. I also feel inactive players shouldnt be considered in the process at all since they are not paying for the service. If and when their account becomes active again then their 2 cents would matter.
That's a much better position!LOL Do you belive everything your told? SE also stated the game would be ready in Sept of 2010 to right? I think they do in fact affect the gap. Ship inactive players off their servers anyways, because SE is probably lying to us and secretly counting them in the cap!
Thank god sleuths like you are here to uncover the real truth.
Look I can play your meme game too:

That's what I was thinking put Inactive Characters in a Holding Server in which when they activate there account again.. to just select a New World =). I Agree with you on this.. Not Delete them entirely no..because then the Customer would get highly ticked off.
