I really do not understand your point about streamers, however I'll never consider it normal get so upset that it would be even an impulse to start cussing at people over video games. That honestly just feels very unstable.

My point is they bring in this "normal" types into gaming that Honestly dont belong in the gaming world. Also many people game as its a safe place were they don't have to worry about being "unstable" which is why they arent social in real life.

Gaming is literally for everyone.

The idea that we should just put up with people verbally harassing others because "gaming is their safe space to harass others" is absolute nonsense.

For what it's worth, some of the kindest people I have ever met happened to swear like sailors. I don't know why so many people in the present day act like the simple act of swearing is some horrid, unforgivable sin. Yet it is what it is with the rules as they are, I suppose.

On the other hand, I have consistently found people overly concerned with the use of tone and language to be some of the nastiest, spiteful and manipulative individuals that I have ever encountered. I've also found them to be pretty flaky and unreliable.



I envy those within the FFXIV community who haven't been exposed to such things. I really do.

Such things don't generally bother me, personally. My time is precious and I consider most other people's time to be precious as well. If people are deliberately throwing a PvP match in order to 'lose faster' or 'feed the enemy points' or the like then I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep if someone chooses to get frustrated and call them out.

Some people are just hot headed after all. It's a personality trait and I rather suspect the attempts to 'fix' and 'punish' such people are unlikely to lead anywhere pleasant. In no small part due to how it often overwhelmingly impacts and excludes people who grew up in rougher environments.

I'm not at all suggesting that players who swear shouldn't ever be punished. To me it's more so a matter of context. In a fair world, if someone is banned for swearing at another player for throwing a match then the player throwing the match would be banned as well.

Noone is asking you to out up with anything just saying what your calling unstable,cruel, or trolling isnt thats the joy of gaming there is supposed to be no "normality".

Games give choices you can block,ignore etc a person however you would rather not use the system giving. Instead you use the game makers rules to shove your real life normal bs on people making gaming more and more into everone being the same and drone like behavior.
As I said before people cursing at another is heat of the moment, plus could be stressing over real life bs using the game as an escape.

Maybe if you want normality dont go into virtual things and stay on the sports bs

Things/situations are not black and white. People havebad days, slip ot of frustration or overwhelm emotions.

Honestly, this has been my experience with most people who set and project high standards around the way others interact or speak. They virtually never hold themselves to their own moral standards, and play 'get out of jail free' cards like using shoddy moral justifications or 'mental illness' any time they're caught out being abusive. Of course, the moment someone else tries to use the same excuse, it suddenly isn't valid anymore. "Rules for thee but not for me". A lot of the time, their moral standards are less about truly being a good person, and more about giving themselves tools to undermine people they happen not to like for other, significantly less justifiable reasons.

Most people AREN'T bad at the game though, and those who do struggle rarely do content that requires high-level playing anyways. So most of the people that get called out are either not doing anything worth being tormented over or those who do are probably still learning and too nervous to ask for help. Then you have your trolls, but they're surprisingly rare in group content in this game and are usually pretty obvious.

So yes, you MUST put up with players that die repeatedly or fail to do mechanics, because they are a minority and you are an adult (probably) and this game supports players at all levels and ages.

Or you can leave the group and find a new one without being verbally abusive, cause that's an option.

I'm not twisting what you said at all. We're talking about people flipping out and cussing out strangers because they don't like what they did in a video game.

No one was talking about "being different" from each other.

"we neee to understand people slip when frustrated." It really depends on the situation, and being understanding of that is different than just sitting back and letting people verbally harass us.

Dropping a no-no word once in a while is different than flipping out and harassing other people for making mistakes in video games.
