I wouldn't be able to say, I don't hang out on WoW forum and don't play the game enough to tell.

Sounds like you hang out there and play the game enough to say it is or are just you just speculating?

I used to play the game until January of this year, actually, but I still browse the forum from time to time around news announcements time to gauge community reception, so I see the same kinds of discussions just like here, just the topics are different.

So saying that people here are being passive aggressive doesn't sound true at all when it's not unique to FFXIV. And that's even assuming we're defining the term the same way.

They aren't saying you have to love it, but they love it themselves so they want to explain why they love it and then you can either agree with it or not. There are things to criticise, but not nearly as much as in other games and what is different is that the developers explain why something has to be this way or why it's hard to fix so that we understand.

However the same type of player that you're describing get very hostile and upset if you don't agree with them.
