Women can have muscle and still have a feminine figure. These things do not exclude each other. However, roided out rectangle is a niche within a niche within a niche.

There's also the fact that clothing aesthetics are a thing, and not everything looks good on ever body shape. Everything for females in this game is made to look good on Middies, first and foremost (and sometimes Lala), and since every female generally looks like a middie female it's not a problem for most. Femroe are a stand-out in this respect as they're masculine shaped af regardless of big boobs ... so it's no wonder that many things that are feminine look bad on a "roided out rectangle" like them.

Now ... imagine that roided rectangle but hunched over with a cat head. It blows my mind that much of this seemed to be started because of people thinking that's acceptable.

Females Roes suffer the most from the thighs and booty treatment with all races. The muscle just makes it worse for many ppl imo.

Oh when I bring up the Kimahri rule 63 fanart, I am saying that that is basically a blue Roegadyn (mostly human face not too different from the Hellsguard Roegadyn. Hands and feet in that art might as well be erased as well due to the way FFXIV is; human-like hands/feet only. Nothing fancy like claws, toe-beans, monster rabbit feet, etc).

And who are you to decide what is and is not acceptable?

A player and MMO/ Media Arts aficionado.
For example, even if I think Hrothgar look cool with their animations and such, I do think it's unacceptable to release a race that has to pay $10 to change their hair in a MMO that did away with that concept not long after I started playing all the way back in ARR. At best, it's a terrible decision they have to work around now, at worse it's a sleazy tactic designed to get Hrothgar to give them more money via the Mogstation.

Anyone playing this game can have an opinion about what is and isn't acceptable.

Let us hope that they've found a better way to handle the hairstyle swapping with females and that the change will also be implemented to the guys at some point.

They mentioned things happening during 6.1 (can't remember if it would be they'll START working on it, or be finished by then)
I'm assuming that's when work on the females is going to start, so they'll probably be working on the male's hair problems as a kind of way of workshopping how they want their systems to handle the fully developed female character options.
Something something, male viera paving the way for female viera to have the missing hairstyles.

Looking at hair drama is part of why I think females are being shown to look like Bless cat races/ Avatar people/ MithraxViera.

The reason Hrothgar males heads look so different compared to each other is because they're so beast like that you need bigger structural changes to the face in order to tell them apart (as human brains are wired to read and recognize human faces, so when you don't have eyebrows/ lips and other human features, it gets hard to tell the tiny details that makes each face unique). So each of Hrothgar's 4 heads has differently shaped foreheads and ears, it makes each face look different.

But because of that it makes hair made for each of the 4 heads not work on the others without problems with the hairline and ears. That's the cost of not having a unified head/ face type, and was a core design decision in making them. They said that Hrothgar males are getting new hair(?) and the ability to change hair in 6.1, but even when they said that it seemed like it would only apply to hair for that face (as in, no face 1 getting face 2's pretty boi mane).

SE would have to decide if Hrothgals should show them learning from the backlash like with MV and have "all the hair" or if they think people would be ok with a female only having w/e they end up giving the males in 6.1.
It's up to them, but when I look at the mural's indication of eyebrows and prominent human lips I get the feeling of a humanized face, which would make it so that they could have "all the hair" if the devs wanted.
