What I meant by "turn out like male viera", is they go the route of trying to please both parties and pleasing none, no doubt they'll still be fairly popular regardless, but I'm just being real. It wouldn't turn out as well for femhroth. Also, granted, male viera design definitely will please one side more than the other (referencing years worth of arguments in the male viera thread).

You and I were both regulars for a long while in the male thread and thats why I point out your comment. They are plenty pleasing to the people that want to play as them, as demonstrated by the excitement here on the forums, on social media, on youtube, on pixiv/art sites... they certainly aren't pleasing to you, but at the end of the day thats fine, different strokes, different folks and all that.

I have no doubt that regardless of what SE ends up going with, f Hrothgar will get the same treatment: some will love them, some won't. Were this a f2p game I would understand the fears of a race being "unpopular" as often the equivalent of glamours are skewed to popular gender/racial combos only since funding is more important there, but that isn't a thing in this game. When females get a cash shop item all of them can wear it. When a new job comes out all of them can play it. For sure they're going to be niche in an anime flavored game with cutesy smol options, but being niche isn't inherently Bad End. My friend has been an Elezen since ARR went live. You'd have to pry her noodle elf from her cold dead hands lol.

Well that was certainly an exercise.
I'm about halfway on my initial concepting of the faces. Got a rough rendering of the "soft/friendly" face, and the "ronso" face. Next up is the "spikey/couerl" face, and the "angular/heroic" face.

Imma stop you there.

GW2 gives you the ability to PICK different body shapes. Female Norn are just tall human women, you can make them buffer or wider if you want, or not. I've got like 3 on my account, none of mine are buff. That's part of the reason they're more popular than Norn Males, who generally look like "if the Hulk got melted a bit".

GW2 isn't like FF or WoW, your character's body shape isn't set in stone cause that game doesn't have an utterly outdated CC system.

Thinner than the males but still looking like a lion (or any big cat), with body proportions similar to female roegadyn (lots of muscle and maybe thicker legs but i don't think we will ever see that lol). I would get rid of the hair for more immersion, just like highlander eyebrows haha

While i think it looks cool too, it just kills the theme a bit. It looks too human-like :
