Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

and yet for the majority of time I've been one the forums, you've been one. curious!

I like their hempen top. I have quite a few outfit designs using it (it's a great neutral, and dyes well), they are overall very easy to glamour, and have decent animations. The race itself, I do not like. I'd prefer it if au ra could use the miqo'te hempen top - which is what I have been requesting for years. I want to have hempen sets available for other races.

If you are curious, looking at your join date, I was inactive for a large portion of 2020, until about mid-late November, if I recall. I was an Au Ra at that time, then I eventually switched to miqo'te, and I was stressed out about how much money I was spending on fantasias. I thought maybe, since I enjoy making outfits, miqo'te would be the easiest. Unfortunately, as I have said, I do not like the race. I cannot stay as one, because of this singular reason. I stopped playing the game around mid-late February or early March 2021, then in about June I started playing a little again, and switched back to my actual primary race: au ra. Swearing off fantasias yet again. I haven't really played the game since June or so. I log in OCCASIONALLY to do a roulette when bored, and log in to keep my house.

These past few months you see me posting on the forums? I'm not playing the game. The last time I played FFXIV, I did a leveling roulette, and logged out. This was sometime in October. You will know if I am actively playing, when I am posting screenshots of my character.

I'm pretty sure that's how they'll look. It has that Khajiit female style appeal to it, which is something they really need to go for. The female Khajiit are what the devs should look towards for examples of how to do the females of a beast race.

"Woke points" is all they're getting if they dump a ton of time/ money/ man power into some hunched over beef woman that less than 0.5% of the player base would play. Because they sure aint getting money for that.

There seems to be a lot of people extremely pleased with their design.

From what I've seen, it's mostly been praise. They look great.

You're missing the point if you think adding in something so few would play adds anything to this game. We're not even talking "unpopular", we're talking about fewer-than-half-of-Femroe's numbers here. THAT is how these ratios always seem to shake out with these types of races. Orcs/ Cows/ Wolves/ Charr show if the women "match" these big ugly things then the women end up 15-20% of their population. That's less than half of Femroe in a game that rejects Thighlanders for just being "muscled humans that aren't as cute".

There's nothing to gain from that, so I get why they're not looking like that.

it wasn't meant as an attack or implication, just an observation, tbh
though having said that, I'd personally could never play a race I don't like for glam purposes only, but everyone's different about that stuff

to keep it at least a little bit on topic, I'd love for the femhroths to look like the earlier fanart, could have 2 faces for the more 'beastlike' look with a roe body and the more feminine 'cute' versions built upon highlanders, but that'd prob be a mess to code

Well that was certainly an exercise.
I'm about halfway on my initial concepting of the faces. Got a rough rendering of the "soft/friendly" face, and the "ronso" face. Next up is the "spikey/couerl" face, and the "angular/heroic" face.

(Feedback is super welcome I know I should be pushing the design further. I've just been staring at this canvas for too long X_X)

I feel like the profile view needs more of a smooth line from skull to back, instead of dipping inwards at the neck like a human. I think that's a key factor between looking like a cat and looking like a human with cat textures applied, especially if they don't have hair to fill in the gap.

Also possibly more sloping shoulders than a human. I think when we were comparing the Hrothgar and Roegadyn in the mural, that was one of the differences if you scaled them to the same height. Particularly for your "Ronso", the front view of the neck looks quite narrow and it could be wider and curving out more gradually than the human "right angle" from vertical neck to horizontal shoulder.

(I know it's not exactly a right angle, but you get what I mean?)

It's why I know femroe bodies look awful. They look terrible in just about every single outfit piece you can possibly find. They kind of look good in armor, I suppose. Femhroth would look equally as terrible as femroe in most outfits, if they actually were going to utilize that body, and actually even worse if they were hunched over. Fortunately, what little we have seen of femhroth art, shows them with a more hourglass shape, and slimmer than femroe. So, it's unlikely we will get something like that. For that matter, I've always thought Roes in general looked terrible, like male roes too I mean. I think male hroth should have been more thin as well, but they do appeal to a certain niche.

You don't know they look awful, you think. And you're welcome to think it but that doesn't make it objective fact.

I do find them difficult to work with, but when you find the right style of pieces they can look very good in things other than armour.
