It's unclear if this is the same Interdimensional Rift that we entered for the Omega raids, you can make arguments either way.

I'm not really convinced that the Rift (IE Source/Shards Rift) isn't the multiversal FF Interdimensional Rift. Firstly, because it is literally a rift between dimensions, which allows access to parallel timelines. And secondly, because it's Omega that provides the knowledge needed to traverse it.

The Sound / Final Days / Terminus beasts predate the Void; that doesn't make logical sense.

They predate the Thirteenth. That doesn't necessarily mean they predate the Void. You know, the real one.

Yeah, it might be something like how the Source and the Shards are very locationally nearby each other in a little sub-network, while if you shoot further out then you end up in Spira or Ivalice Games Ivalice.

Unfortunately, Gilgamesh isn't answering my calls, so I can't tell if the one guy that's definitely made the trip can say if we're right.
