There's two different rifts; the rift between the shards/Source and the rift between the corporeal and aetherial realm that the Ascians have been using as a safe haven to recuperate within as well to meet in secret.

And neither should be confused with the Interdimensional Rift, which is the space between Final Fantasy universes, and is how Gilgamesh got to Eorzea.

It's unclear if this is the same Interdimensional Rift that we entered for the Omega raids, you can make arguments either way.
