FFXIV is just really really disappointing!

I only say harsh things to those who deserve it. I don't like to, but I feel it is needed. I took the time to help OP out with what I knew. And now I'm getting treated like crap for it? All cuz I called out all the rude ppl which is getting tiring to see. If this game gets a bad community, what would tyhe point be for devs to fix it? This game still does require teamwork ti really have fun. Why would anyone wanna team up with rude ppl.

I'm suspecting the OP at first when he "couldnt" move, hit arrow keys, causing himself to change target setting, this target feature is new, garbage and not in any manual and/or tutorial. So he'd of had no idea about it just accidently switched it, placing it on friendly obviously means he cant target the mob and without knowing his target setting he will be like "wtf", that is my guess.

I'm not sure about the skills thing, You have no skills at the start so what exactly were you trying to put on? You have your first single attack and its already placed. :S so im confused wtf the OP was on about then.

I normally stop reading this kind of rant when i read "it's unplayable" or something similar. Because that's obvious that the poster doesn't even know what "playable" means.

So, this game is not like wow or aion, or the other ones you are used to. You say it like it's a bad thing.
The game is plenty playable, especially in the current incarnation. If you can't play it (because that's what unplayable means), maybe the problem is in your inability to adapt to something that's not a bland copy of other games you're used to, and not in the game itself.
You want a game that's like wow or aion? That's great. it's your freedom of choice as a customer. Guess what? You have a whole market of choices that fits that description.
I and many others enjoy playing a game that's NOT like wow or Aion, since we already played several games like that, and the whole trite, rehashed format has become stale and boring. Ain't it great that there's *one* MMORPG in the market that caters (or at least tries to) to us?
I would say it is. For the ones like you, there are plenty options out there without demanding this one to conform to the rest as well.

Uncostructive posts like this have no utility. That's all there's to it. Demanding every single game on the market to be tailored on your personal tastes is ridiculous.

OP sorry you got flamed. I got through the opening sequence no problem on my MacBook Pro from 2008. Just consider the game to be unfinished - good things are to come I think. Since you stopped at UI and input/output problems I encourage you to reassess why you're gaming at all. I play for art, and no UI could come between me and that.

Starting one's contribution to a forum with a wall of text full of hyperbolic statements and unconstructive, inflamatory ranting isn't exactly the best way to instigate discussion or asking for help. It's not a matter of sharing "opinions", since the OP didn't express his ideas as opinions. Groundless bashing is naturally met with negativity, and trying to depict the OP as a poor, innocent, victim of the rabid community (which is untrue) is just intentionally warping reality.

As long as we both concur that's how a person should conduct themself, particularly if we're asking for a better community, as mentioned.
