Oh right, we should run. That's something that is undervalued. People who run or cop out of situations because of what they personally lose. You're totally right. That promotes way more risk taking and heroic behavior.
I did it all the time in ffxi if I knew we were going to die. Why not live?
with the anima you dont want us to have?
or not try at all, to presume that some people dont play very well is because of the lack of death penalty is pretty far fetched.Originally Posted by Rokien
Anyways, my point still stands. When you have a death penalty that people don't like. They will try harder not to die and there for get better at the game.
The Ul'duh Inn is like an antique shop...full of crap and always closed."You don't have to say anything, I just look at your life now and work backwards." - Black Books
I see wow can't believe I didn't think of that. Guys next time you do moogles/ifrit tell the entire party to sit there so no one takes a chance at dieing.
So you want a more painful death penalty so you can be a coward? Not my style so I'll have to pass.
Oh,oh, I know. When you die you should automatily go back to lvl 1 and your corpse is then teleported to ff11 where you have to beat the game to get back to ff14. Also as soon as you die you should get locked out of the game for 3 months.
I think that's a fair compromise we can all agree on.
I would have to agreeWhile shame is a solid reason for many people to avoid death, its not something that applies to everyones logic, while a death penalty should. Otherwise what reason is there for death? A minute time sink? How about we just dedicate a server to the casual players, everyone can have their god mode, kill things quickly, reach max level cap within a few days and be content with thier hollow achievements(Yeah, I'm a hater.) People who are against a death penalty obviously are not up to the challenge it presents.
This idea is absurd. And if you truely want to follow lore, then you would need something irreversible to happen. Dying is temporary and weakness wears off, so dying doesn't follow the lore as you claim. It would need to be more like.... you lose 5 strength that you can NEVER get back. That's irreversible.
But anyways... this is a video game... set in a FANTASY world. It doesn't need to follow every piece of lore exactly. The anima system is perfectly fine as it is.
