This is part of the endless, endless cycle that ensures White Mage is the boring and terrible healer. Has to be simple -> should have a lower skill ceiling -> doesn't deserve higher output for less effort -> should be weaker than the others -> no utility to make up for being weaker -> ends up being less engaging, weaker, and less desirable than the others -> "why oh why is White Mage in such a bad spot, nobody could possibly have predicted this. Maybe something should be done to fix this state of affairs!" -> But whatever you do, it'd better be simple!

that's subjective, I like playing ast more currently. I also consider sch to be easier to optimize correctly then whm.

If anything, from a cynical point of view, that might as well be how the devs see it - they think most people fail mechanics consistently enough that healing is always needed, which would be....just a little patronizing
