ahahaha like SMN to me... unpopular opinion, but I personally don't like SMN's change in direction into a more traditional caster.. this rework.. sure it looks nice and fancy, but it doesnt feel like a summoner anymore, to me at least.
It never felt like a Summoner in this game at all to begin with. Now it will.
Uhhh..you don't think the 6.0 Summoner looks more like a summoner than the current Summoner thats just a DoT mage?
I'm tired of class reworks, and skill bloat. So if they remove some tedious elements of classes and replace it with more fun. Aka buttons that have big impact. I'm all for that.
And that's the problem. People with preconceptions from older ff games are drawn to the class because of the name, and people who played the class and enjoyed it's playstyle and niche are both wanting different things for the class. SE caved to one group, without giving an alternative to the people who enjoyed the class that existed. There is now a huge void in the caster jobs.
For me, they almost nailed it, but they removed a huge portion of the reason why I've mained this class for so long. I now no longer have a job that 1, needs to manage dots, 2, has to deal with pet interactions, and 3, doesn't rely on elemental spell aesthetics. I'm glad that the carbuncle is still here, and, in theory, enjoy the gameplay changes from the different "summons," but that's all I've got to look forward to rn, and nothing to fill the void that the removal of my main class has left.

I am incredibly hype for the job trailer!
I’m sorry, you joined in July and have “been waiting months for this trailer?” Let’s not be dramatic. Play the same class with little changes for several years and then you can make that complaint.
I'm thinking a new DoT class will be added in smn's place. Onmyouji or Oracle. Something like a "Japanese type of Shaman, Magician, Conjurer-like ranged attacker" was considered for stormblood. And that's the problem. With smn being changed so drastically, they might go back to this idea.

Unfortunately that wouldn't check all 3 boxes like current summoner does. :TI'm thinking a new DoT class will be added in smn's place. Onmyouji or Oracle. Something like a "Japanese type of Shaman, Magician, Conjurer-like ranged attacker" was considered for stormblood.

(ACN job when SE?)
But let's hope they understand the void exists now. We'll just have to wait two whole years. ugh.
(I'm expecting them to release that kind of caster and BST as a phys ranged, and have all of us who enjoy current smn be split down the middle)

RDM gets a railgun so I’m fine.
