I understand where you're coming from, absolutely. I too had these thoughts where I observe other people's glamour and think "Oh, that's very out of themed for Final Fantasy" because within each Final Fantasy game, all the NPC's and main characters have outfits that are fitting for that timeline of the game. I've just accepted that this game doesn't necessarily have a 'strict theme' so if people choose to wear modern-looking outfits then it's none of my business.

Square Enix have extorted money from Viera and Hrothgar's limitations, but from the outside looking in it seems barely any of that money is invested back into the limited races. How much money have they made from players
fantasia'ing to and from the limited races? We want more race-exclusive hair.
We want them improved, and we want it done within a reasonable time.

Right. This title draws inspiration from the entire franchise which runs all sorts of aesthetics depending on title and you can also see a lot of these differences depending on area as we started travelling to other regions of the world. Though some of the more sci-fi ish titles were just inserted briefly as crossover events. Given the elaborate clothing designs however that numerous NPC's in game are seen wearing is there any actual reason why someone couldn't make something like a t-shirt, hoodie, jeans, sneakers, etc...?

Yes but that doesn't contradict my actual point: These outfits actually exist within the setting. It's a goofy pig costume but a goofy pig costume that exists within the world of FFXIV, so while I can see how it could be distracting for someone to say, queue into Praetorium and see someone in that, it still fits within the game's lore for that outfit to exist.

Sorry if the abstraction was too hard. The point is you can't just create this litmus test based on your own perceptions (eg: Magic allowed, not magic not allowed.) This isn't about immersion, but about what you like. Anything you say doesn't fit is based on a perception of the FFXIV world that isn't in line with what the FFXIV world actually is. Any item we see in the world is there because the creators of this world decided to put it in this world. People should ask where things came from though. There are things that are obviously of this world, while other things seem to have come from other worlds, but they are here now.

SE could just change some of the glamour for the npcs as well. There is a lot of outdated stuff in the game and as the game is evolving, I think they could do some tinkering here and there. I think this would be a reasonable solution.

Personally, I would still rather Eorzea to look more high fantasy on everything, but we are beyond that now.

Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!

    My warlock's were pretty ridiculous.

My orc warrior alt had the spikiest shoulders I could find, just so I could laugh whenever he sat down to drink and impaled himself through the skull.

Nah the most immersion breaking thing in game is the lack of toilets... I mean at this point someone has to have created magic toilets that send our poo to the void...
